In one preferred embodiment, the security barrier is suitable for installation in a waterway and comprises: (1) a plurality of piles, each pile having a bottom end embedded into the earth and a top end extending vertically upward; (2) an open security grid juxtaposed between and secured by the piles, wherein the grid preferably has a bottom end that extends downward below the surface between the piles toward the earth; (3) at least one rigid wall panel also juxtaposed between and secured by the piles on top of the open security grid, thereby forming a security barrier that allows water, air, aquatic life, and birds to pass through the barrier, but restricts the movement of humans and vehicles across the barrier.

This is a new type of pile foundation for support of structures. It uses a new method of forming concrete around the steel rebar prior to installing the rebar. Concrete is molded in an undulating fashion to improve load transfer to the adjacent hole backfill. The backfill is densified in place and grouted to maintain the dense configuration. The grouting is injected into an unlined hole. If temporary casing is used during drilling, it is removed prior to grouting. The basic premises are that grouting the hole backfill to the surrounding soil provides a better load transfer at that interface. And, beyond a few inches past the steel rebar, grouted dense sand and gravel are adequate for the load at that point. Timing of the grouting is more flexible than typical ready-mix concrete delivery systems. This method also allows for real time testing of the pile capacity.

Each assembly consists of a rotary driver and tool driver that moves along respective driving arms to independently drive a pair of screw anchors into supporting ground at different angles. Each assembly may move with respect to the machine independently to drive anchors into the ground in overlapping time, or both may rotate at once to drive anchors into the ground sequentially.

The soil passage is located at at least one of the central and peripheral cutter at a radial distance from the cylindrical wall.
