A residential bathtub or shower is combined with a catch drain or basin below and in proximity with the tub or shower in a unitary structure. Most components of a heat pump are located in the catch basin. A hot water tank is outside of the catch basin but located in the immediate vicinity such as at an end of the tub or above the tub or alongside of the tub. The hot tank includes a heat exchanger that is the heat pump condenser, bringing heat to the hot tank for warming household water. Hot water flows from the tank into the tub or shower for bathing and then drains into the catch basin where heat exchangers remove heat before draining or reuse in flushing a toilet.

FLUSH TOILET

A flush toilet includes a toilet main body made of ceramics, a control unit, a supply source that enables water supply or power supply to the control unit, and a flexible elongated member connecting the supply source and the control unit. The toilet main body includes a rear storage configured to store at least a part of the control unit. The rear storage includes an upper storage region, a lower region, and a lower communication region. The flexible elongated member extends from an upper connecting end portion toward a lower connecting end portion, to be inserted from the upper storage region into the lower communication region, and then extends from inside of the lower communication region to outside of the toilet main body, without extending through the lower region.

A water-saving accessory for a toilet includes a basin, a three-port valve, and first and second lengths of tubing. The basin has inlet and outlet ports and is configured to be coupled to the toilet bowl or toilet seat. The valve is configured to be coupled to a fluid supply line. The first length of tubing is configured to be attached at a first end to the valve and at a second end to the basin inlet port. The second length of tubing is configured to be attached at a first end to the basin outlet port. The valve can be configured to be coupled to a flush line for the toilet bowl such that fluid is normally supplied from the fluid supply line to the flush line, and to be actuatable to divert fluid from the fluid supply line to the first length of tubing.

Toilet that detects fluorescent drug markers and methods of use thereof

The present disclosure describes a method of detecting a drug marker in urine a urine sample using a toilet. The drug markers are fluorophores each of which emits a unique fluorescence spectra. Accordingly, the method does not detect the drug but rather, the drug marker. The drug marker may include quantum dots which may be functionalized by connecting the quantum dot to a biomolecule. The biomolecule may be cleavable by a peptidase, a protease, or a nuclease to release the drug. Alternatively, the composition may include a liposome carrier. A user who has consumed the drug composition urinates into the toilet and a urine sample is captured. The toilet includes a mechanism for fluid handling which diverts urine into a fluorescence spectrometer. The fluorescence spectrometer screens the urine for drug markers based on their unique fluorescent spectra.
