Wall system fastener assembly for building veneers and claddings
A wall fastener assembly for retaining an exterior wall covering alongside a wall includes a screw, an elongated shank and a washer. The shank is configured to provide a space for a layer of insulation between the exterior wall covering and the wall. The shank comprises a center bore extending along the length of the shank for receiving the screw configured to secure the wall fastener assembly to the wall. The shank also includes a pair of flanges positioned opposite the wall. The pair of flanges form a groove between them. The groove configured to receive a masonry tie, wire tie or a girt track. The washer includes a central portion comprising a center hole for receiving the shank. The wire tie includes a narrow portion configured to be retained by the groove. A seal may be provided on the shank to seal the wall fastener assembly with the insulation.
Mineral Wool Insulation Product For Façade Renovations
The invention is directed to a mineral wool insulation slab for facade renovations, comprising a rigid insulation slab or lamella having and outer and an inner side, wherein the outer side of the slab comprises an outer layered surface and the innerside of the slab is a mechanically and/or chemically softened layer of the one and same insulation slab. The invention is further directed to a method for manufacturing of such an insulation slab.
Continuous wall assemblies and methods
According to one embodiment, an insulated structure includes a frame comprising a plurality of wall studs coupled together and a plurality of foam boards attached to the frame to form a continuous insulative wall. A plurality of fasteners attaches the foam boards to the frame. Each fastener includes an elongate shaft and a cap. The elongate shaft is configured to penetrate through a foam board and into a wall stud to couple the components together. The cap is configured to be positioned atop a foam board to distribute a load relatively evenly to the foam board. A sealing tape is applied across seams between adjacent foam boards and over the fasteners' caps to seal the wall. A sealing caulk is applied to secondary fasteners and penetrations to seal the wall. In some embodiments, the structure has a fastener density of about 1 fastener per 243 in.sup.2 of foam board.
METHOD FOR SECURING A COMPONENT TO A SUBSTRATE
In a method for securing a component, a nail having a nail shank and a nail head is provided, a sleeve is arranged on the nail shank, a driving-in element and a guide channel are provided, the nail head and the sleeve are arranged in the guide channel such that a peripheral gap is formed between the nail head and the guide channel, the driving-in element is driven through the guide channel toward the nail head in order to move the nail in a driving-in direction toward the substrate, the sleeve is compressed between the nail shank, the guide channel and the nail head while the nail moves toward the substrate, and a portion of the sleeve is pressed into the peripheral gap between the nail head and the guide channel.
