SOUND ABSORBING STRUCTURE AND SOUND ABSORBING WALL

A sound absorbing structure includes a perforated surface with a plurality of through-holes, a first cavity that has a portion extending non-parallel to a normal direction of the perforated surface, the first cavity being breathable between an interior and exterior of the first cavity via the plurality of through-holes existing in a first region of the perforated surface, and a second cavity that is breathable between an interior and exterior of the second cavity via the plurality of through-holes existing in a second region adjacent to the first region of the perforated surface.

SOUND ISOLATION ASSEMBLIES FOR WALLS SUPPORTING HEAVY LOADS

A sound isolation assembly comprising: one or more backing plates; one or more acoustic isolators; and a backing block. The acoustic isolators may be secured between the backing plates and the backing block when the backing plates are fastened to the backing block. When the backing plates are fastened to the backing block, the backing plates are substantially prevented by the acoustic isolators from being in direct contact with the backing block. The acoustic isolators may be fastened to the studs. The sound isolation assembly, when installed in a wall that is supporting a heavy load, raises the Sound Transmission Class rating of that wall.

FLUSH MOUNT BAFFLE FOR FINISHED CEILINGS AND WALLS

An isolating hanger and method of making is disclosed for mounting a ceiling from an upper support. The isolating hanger comprises a one piece bendable wire having a spring shape defined between a first and a second wire end. The spring shaped is tempered for transforming said spring shape into a resilient spring. The remaining bendable wire ends affix the upper support to the ceiling for isolating vibration between the ceiling and the upper support.

Smart dynamic acoustic ceiling panel

A dynamic acoustic system for use in connection with an indoor environment includes a plurality of elongated acoustic bars and a controller operably to each of the elongated acoustic bars. Each of the bars is operably coupled to a ceiling member of the indoor environment and includes an upper portion, a lower portion, a plurality of side surfaces extending between the upper and lower portions, an interior region at least partially defined by the upper portion, the lower portion, and the plurality of side surfaces, and at least one movable element movable between first and second positions. The controller selectively controls operation of the at least one movable element of a desired number of the plurality of elongated acoustic bars to alter an environmental characteristic of the indoor environment.

SOUND PROOF UNDERLAYMENT MEMBRANE
20170314259 · 2017-11-02 ·

A soundproof underlayment membrane is disclosed. The membrane comprises a main layer having a given thickness made of a flexible material and a plurality of points extending from one of the surfaces of the main layer. The points are located on the surface in order to create an absorbing chamber between the main layer and an adjacent surface on which the membrane is placed, while reducing a surface of contact between floor coverings installed on the membrane and the adjacent surface. By combining at least two different structural elements, the membrane is particularly efficient for sound reduction in a construction such as the impact or structure borne noise (Impact Insulation Class—IIC) and the sound transmission or airborne sound (Sound Transmission Class—SCC). Compared to existing membranes in the fields, the present invention provides a light material, easy to manufacture, ship and install, while providing effective soundproof properties.
