A building framework is disclosed herein comprising a first structural member, a second structural member, and a third structural member disposed between the first and second structural members, a first web member connecting the first and third structural members in a spaced apart relationship, and a second web member connecting the second and third structural members in a spaced apart relationship. The first web member is positioned relative to the second web member such that the shortest distance between the first web member and second web member is greater than or equal to 5 times the thickness of the third structural member. Additional products, systems, and methods also are disclosed.
Self-Building Kit System
According to an example embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a self-building kit system including a first kit. The first kit includes: first modules of a first shape having two modules disposed opposite each other, and each including one or more first fitting portions cut out to a first length (d1) in the direction of the center thereof; and second modules of a second shape having N (N is a natural number) modules disposed between the two first modules, and each including one or more second fitting portions cut out to a second length (d2) in the direction of the center thereof. The second length (d2) is equal to or shorter than the first length (d1).
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES, E3-LUMBER
E.sup.3Lumber is comprised by novel apparatuses as engineered wood systems, methods, apparatuses, tools, adhesives, and manufacturing for construction of structures. E.sup.3Lumber has standardization and optimization surpassing state-of-the-art construction. Each of those systems, methods, apparatuses, material compositions, and material stratifications utilize one-to-many apparatus relations. All formed or machined apparatuses feature innovative features like engineered constraints, multi-tier and hybrid composites, and constrained assembly all situated within novel methods like, the Three E, 4-Tier, Cross Datum Construction, E-Stud, E-Framing, E-Truss, E-Hips, E-Bridging, Continuous Truss methods meet national and international specifications. The Three E's of E.sup.3Lumber are environmental, economic, and engineering and are characteristics found throughout invention intended for the significant improvement of environmental conditions, wood products, and technologies. As a fact, E.sup.3Lumber use decreases deforestation by increasing growth periods of trees by decreasing biomass consumption and all the while providing economic incentive to become greener.
Portal frame with lap joint for moment resistance
A lateral force resistance system for a building is provided wherein a portal frame is constructed with a lapped connection between the supported structural member and the supporting structural member and the supporting structural member is made with an elongated member that spans the width of the supporting structural member and the height of the supporting structural member.

Framing assembly
A framing assembly has a plurality of modified splines, a plurality of modified panels, and at least one surface attachment member for constructing the frame of a building structure having interior exposed beams. The plurality of splines are rafter splines, extended rafter splines, or wall splines. Each spline has a support member and a pair of flanges abutting a lower portion of the support member. At least one surface attachment member is attachable to a lower portion of each spline as a decorative feature. The panels are modified structural insulated panels (SIPs) coupled to at least one of the splines to form a wall section, a ceiling section, or a roof section. Once assembled, the SIPs outer skin forms a continuous backing for the remaining exterior (or outer) wall or ceiling treatment. The splines not only support the modified SIPs, but also support the roof.
Fastening and alignment member
A connection between a connector, a fastener and one or more structural members is disclosed. The connector can be formed with a fastening and alignment member. The fastening and alignment member includes a projecting member and a protruding member in close proximity to a predetermined location for the fastener.
Pillar fixing metal fitting
The fixing metal fitting including: a joint base in groove shape mainly composing a joint metal; a cover spacer in groove shape capable of supporting the pillar's axial load by covering the joint base, wherein joint base including: a plane section in rectangular shape coinciding with an end surface of the pillar; a pair of groove walls bent vertically in L shape; and a joining plate standing from the plane section and supported by welded part J contacting at least the pair of groove walls or groove bottom, wherein the cover spacer including: a plane section in rectangular shape for supporting pillar by abutting to the pillar's end surface; a pair of groove walls composed of side edges of plane section respectively bent vertically in L shape; and a slit drilled such that the joining plate will be fitted into slit when the cover spacer is covering the joint base.
Building and construction method for same
A building and construction method include improved workability not causing variation in quality of buildings, by easily joining materials without special processing by forming mortises. A wooden building constructed by fitting horizontal and vertical members includes lower frames, first upper frames, second upper frames, and side joists as horizontal members; and pillars as vertical members, wherein the lower, first upper and second upper frames, and side joists include mortises at part of the lower, first upper and second upper frames, and side joists in longitudinal direction, the first upper frames include an entire length recessed groove in longitudinal direction, the second upper frames include an entire length protrusion in longitudinal direction, the mortises at the lower frames and the first upper frames are through holes, and the pillars include protrusions at both ends, fitting into the mortises at the lower, first upper and second upper frames, and side joists.
