A ceiling beam connector that permits the incorporation of ornamental panel designs such as triangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids into suspended ceilings. The connector has a faceplate attached to either two arms or a leg. The leg is attached to either the faceplate or an arm at an acute angle measured from an axis perpendicular to the faceplate. To maintain standard beam lengths and rout spacing at 2 foot, 3 foot, or 4 foot (61 cm, 91 cm, or 122 cm) beam spacing, the leg may project out at the following angles measured from the axis: about 14.0°, about 18.4°, about 26.6°, about 30.3°, about 45.0°, about 59.7°, about 63.4°, about 71.6°, or about 76.0°.

In a suspended ceiling a housing is provided including a light located within an interior chamber having a lower opening. The housing includes lateral sides with slots therein which can receive fasteners coupled to ends of other T-bars. Ends of the housing can include fasteners, such as tabs or clips, which attach ends of the housing to adjacent supports, such as other T-bars within the suspended ceiling. In one embodiment, the housing has a constant cross-sectional form. The cross-sectional form can include lateral sides defined by lateral cross-tees with a vertical spine and lateral rest shelf upon which an edge of the ceiling tile can be supported. A central cross-tee can optionally be provided extending down from upper portions of the housing and between diagonal spans on upper lateral portions of the housing. One or more diffusers span the lower opening of the housing.

The present disclosure relates generally to ceiling grids, for example, suitable for forming a suspended ceiling. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a support bar configured to extend across grid beams of a ceiling grid. The support bar includes a first hook configured to secure to a first grid beam of the ceiling grid and a second hook configured to secure to a second grid beam of the ceiling grid. A spanning member extends from the first hook to the second hook and is configured to support the weight of an element attached to the support bar.

Support member for ceiling system

The disclosure relates to support members for ceiling systems, such as those that can be formed into an interconnected grid to be suspended from a ceiling and support ceiling tiles. One aspect of the disclosure is a linearly-extending support member for a ceiling tile. The support member has a cross-sectional shape that includes a substantially vertical central web with a top end and a bottom end; at least one flange extending substantially horizontally from the bottom end of the web, the flange having an upper surface and a lower surface; and a bulb extending from the top end of the web, the bulb having a first side and a second side with a cavity therebetween, the bulb having an upper portion and a lower portion adjacent the top end of the web, wherein the entire lower portion of the bulb is narrower than the upper portion of the bulb and wider than the central web, the bulb comprising a series of spaced apertures formed therein through both the first side and the second side of the bulb, each aperture being disposed at least partially in the lower portion of the bulb, each aperture having an upper portion and a lower portion, wherein the upper portion of the aperture is rounded.
