Panel system for modular building construction
A composite construction element or panel system for use in construction of multi-storey structures, either as a prefabricated panelized system or as a modular system. The composite construction element comprises two mass timber subpanels joined at a distance to form a hollow core, through which various building services (e.g. HVAC or electrical systems) and/or insulation may be integrated. When used as a modular system, after assembly, the two subpanels become one structural entity of increased structural capacity while providing a hollow core to provide/deliver desired building services.
METHOD OF GLUING A WOOD PRODUCT AND A GLUED WOOD PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a method of producing a glued wood product for use in construction, comprising the steps of: providing at least two wooden pieces each piece comprising at least one joining face; creating a groove in at least one of said joining faces where the groove is arranged between a pair of peripheral edges; applying adhesive onto at least one of the joining faces of at least a first of said two wooden pieces; arranging said first wooden piece so that the joining face which comprises the applied adhesive meets a corresponding joining face of said second wooden piece, wherein at least one of said two joining faces comprises said groove; pressing the two joining faces towards each other so that the adhesive is compressed between said two wooden pieces, and maintaining said pressing for a sufficient time to bond the wooden pieces to each other; wherein the applied pressing force is strong enough to force the wood tissue to collapse at a contact area until the pressure force is transmitted primarily through the adhesive, wherein said contact area is defined by the surface area whereat the two joining faces of said wooden pieces contact each other upon being pressed together.

WALL SYSTEM FOR COMPOSING A FLAT WALL AND CONSTRUCTION KIT APPLIED THEREBY
Wall system for composing a fiat wall (1), in particular a wall, floor, ceiling, roof or the like, characterised in that the wail system is composed of wooden beams (2) which extend parallel to each other lengthways and the side edges (3) of which are mounted opposite each other breadthways by means of anchoring elements (8) which are mounted in or on the beams (2) and which in mounted condition of the wall (1) are kept apart at a fixed defined distance (L) by means of spacers (12) which extend through passages (7) in the beams (2), said passages (7) extending and connecting breadthways (B) of the beams (2) and in each other's extension, whereby the anchoring elements (8) are anchored relative to the passages (7) in an axial and radial direction as well as against rotating around the axial passage direction (X-X′) of the passages (7).
Integral weather barrier panels
The present invention provides a panel sheathing for making wall and roof structures in which the panels (e.g., wood boards, oriented strand boards, plywood, etc.) are pre-coated at a factory, before installation at the building/construction site, using a polymeric barrier coating having specific water permeability, self-sealing properties with respect to penetrated metal fasteners (e.g., nails) in accordance with ASTM D7349 (modified using 1.5-5.0 inches water depth in hydrostatic head testing over sample of coated panel in which a steel nail is driven to within ⅛ inches of being flush with the panel and conditioning the test specimen for 24 hours at 23° C. prior to hydrostatic loading), as well as anti-blocking properties whereby the coated panels can be transported in stacked configuration without sticking or disintegration of the polymeric barrier coating. The coated panels do not require the use at the installation site of felt paper, house wrap, or additional applied barrier coating to provide excellent weather barrier properties. The present invention also provides methods for constructing the panel sheathing structure as well as for making the coated panels.
Hybrid Shear-Wall System for the Construction of Solid-Wood Buildings in Seismic Zones
A hybrid shear wall system for construction of massive timber buildings of more than two stories in seismic zones, is provided, which presents a ductile behavior and reduced overturning effect against a lateral load caused by destructive natural events, such as earthquakes or strong winds; the shear wall system comprises an interior frame with articulated nodes of union between columns and sills, to which exterior massive timber panels are joined on both opposite faces, by means of individual energy dissipating connectors; where the frame comprises post-tensioned self-centering means, which together with the articulated nodes, the exterior massive timber panels and the connectors, act together as a unit and allow the shear wall to behave in a ductile manner and with reduced overturning effect under high lateral load.

Method of manufacturing OSB with extruded polymer bands
A system for introducing a noise-dampening polymer in-line in the manufacturing process of a manufactured wood product to achieve higher acoustic performance in siding, sheathing, roofing, flooring, and similar applications using the manufactured wood product. Several lines or bands of the noise-dampening polymer are deposited transversely across one side or face of the product. The polymer is deposited where the product is expected to contact joists or studs. The polymer may be a viscoelastic polymer.
