Fire-stopping product

The invention provides a fire-stopping product, an insulated building façade comprising a fire-stopping product, and a method of making a fire-stopping product. The fire-stopping product comprises a resilient, porous material at least partially impregnated with an intumescent agent and held in compression by a releasable restraint. When exposed to hot gases from a fire, the restraint yields to release the resilient, porous material in an initial expansion, thereby exposing the intumescent agent to the hot gases and allowing rapid intumescence to occur. When implemented in a ventilated building façade, the fire-stopping product is able to close an air gap in a short amount of time.

Lap and panel siding with ventilation elements

A plurality of ventilation elements, vents, slots, or gap elements or similar features that are applied to, or machined into, one or more sides or faces of exterior siding products, such as lap siding, panel siding, vertical siding, horizontal siding, flat (or non-overlapping) siding, flap siding, decorative trim, trim system components or other forms of panels or cladding materials. When the exterior siding product is installed, the ventilation elements, vents, slots, or gap elements or similar features provide a built-in air and water gap to facilitate and increase water drainage and air circulation behind the siding or panel, thereby minimizing water storage in the space behind the product and lowering the equilibrium moisture content of the siding itself. The ventilation features are incorporated into the corresponding product in-line or during the manufacturing process, and do not require any further work during assembly or construction on-site (e.g., furring strips or other similar drainage mechanisms are not needed). Some or all of the ventilation features or elements are located to improve the product's ability to equilibrate (moisture-wise) in a product stack before installation as well as after installation.

Prefabricated flashing product
11560748 · 2023-01-24 · ·

A prefabricated flashing product for an opening in an exterior surface of a structure includes a generally planar flange shaped to conform to the exterior surface, the flange extending outwardly from an entire perimeter of an aperture therein that corresponds to the opening, and a return that seals to the flange about the aperture and extends substantially perpendicularly therefrom toward an inward direction of the opening. The flange and the return are monolithically formed of a waterproof material. A method of integrating a fenestration product into an opening of an exterior surface of a structure includes inserting the flashing product described above into the opening, and inserting the fenestration product at least partially into the aperture of the flashing product.

One aspect of the disclosure is a siding system including a first panel having a first end and a second end, where the second end of the first panel includes a locking clip, and where the second end of the first panel forms a first portion of a channel. The siding system also includes a second panel having a first end and a second end, where the first end of the second panel includes a locking leg sized to engage the locking clip of the first panel, and where the first end of the second panel forms a second portion of the channel when the first panel and the second panel are engaged. The system also includes a batten sized to be removably engaged within the channel.

VENTILATION STRUCTURE IN EXTERIOR WALL BODY
20230017566 · 2023-01-19 ·

A ventilation structure in an exterior wall body incorporates: a pair of wooden column members erected spaced away from each other; a wooden beam member installed across on the pair of wooden column members and having a first ventilation groove at an exterior face; a wooden base member installed across lower ends of the pair of wooden column members and having a second ventilation groove at an exterior face; and a base plywood fixed to an exterior face of each of the pair of wooden column members, the wooden beam member, and the wooden base member, and serving as a base of a decorative exterior wall member, wherein a plurality of the first ventilation grooves and a plurality of the second ventilation grooves are formed away from each other in a horizontal direction.

Panel for attachment to a mounting surface of a building structure and method of making the same

A panel is configured for attachment to a mounting surface of a building structure. The panel includes a first end surface and a second end surface, spaced from each other along a longitudinal axis; a top edge surface and a bottom edge surface, spaced from each other and offset from the longitudinal axis; and an inner surface and an outer surface, opposed to each other and extending from the first end surface and the second end surface. The inner surface includes a contact portion and a contour portion. The contact portion is disposed on a reference plane. The contour portion is contoured toward the outer surface, away from the reference plane, such that the contour portion defines a channel. The channel extends along at least a portion of a length of the panel, between the first end surface and the second end surface.

System and method for a vented and water control siding, vented and water control sheathing and vented and water control trim-board

A vented and water control paneling has improved drainage and integrated ventilation air space. The water control paneling may be fabricated with an omnidirectional relief pattern formed on its back surface. The relief pattern spaces the vented and water control paneling away from a structure to which it is secured, thereby providing an omnidirectional drainage plane between the back surface of the paneling and the structure. The omnidirectional drainage plane provides an unimpeded ventilation and drainage path of water and/or water vapor.

Method for covering building walls and structure for supporting wall covers
11505947 · 2022-11-22 · ·

A method and a structure are described that allow covers to be simply and quickly applied to building walls and façades, regardless of whether the walls are inside or outside, flat or curved, ventilated or not. First, the method provides for making a bearing surface, parallel to the wall, by using flexible panels, then constraining the bearing surface to the wall by fastening elements whose orientation can be adjusted, next precisely adjusting the orientation of the bearing surface from the wall by acting selectively on the single fastening elements, and finally fastening the cover, for example marble slabs, to the bearing surface. The support structure includes the just described elements.

POLYMER-BASED BRACKET SYSTEM FOR METAL PANELS
20230047802 · 2023-02-16 ·

A system for supporting exterior panels on a substrate of a building structure. The system has a plurality of polymeric bracket members, and each of the bracket members have at least one anchor section, at least one web section and at least one support section. The polymeric bracket members provide a thermal break from the exterior panel to the substrate of the building structure. A plurality of exterior cladding units are held in place by the bracket members. A plurality of vents are disposed between the panels and the exterior panels, and a plurality of vents are also disposed between the panels and the substrate, thereby forming a ventilation system.

Frameless construction method using single and double plenum panels

A method of constructing a building comprising the steps of attaching a first panel to a second panel. The first panel is one of a single plenum panel and a multi-plenum panel and the second panel is one of a single plenum panel and a multi-plenum panel.
