A covering element for raised floors, comprising a decorative component made of ceramic material, said decorative component having a top side, a bottom side opposite the top side and a thickness greater than 12 mm, wherein the covering element comprises a reinforcing component arranged underneath the bottom surface of the decorative component.

A method of applying a protective film to a construction panel comprising: (a) selectively applying an adhesive composition to a peripheral region of a surface of the construction panel; and/or selectively applying an adhesive composition to a peripheral region of a surface of the protective film; and (b) applying a protective film to the surface of the construction panel to bond the protective film to the construction panel. Each electrode portion is responsive to a force applied to the flooring segment and at least one electrode portion of a said flooring segment forms an electrode with at least one electrode portion of another said flooring segment. Moreover, each flooring segment comprises a unique encoding of the one or more electrode portions. Also disclosed is a sensory floor such a sensory flooring system, a receiver for receiving an electrical output from the one or more electrodes formed by said one or more electrode portions of the flooring segments, and a processor for analysing the electrical output and identifying the flooring segment by which the electrical output was produced.

Disclosed are embodiments of a round floor grommet and a rectangular floor grommet. These floor grommets can be constructed in any desired shape other than round or rectangular. Frame portions that hold foam pieces are joined together to form a primary slit in the floor grommet. Cross slits can also be formed in the foam material. The foam is a semi-closed cell foam that is constructed from PVC and nitrile butadiene rubber which has superior sealing effects since the foam can conform around objects passing through the slits in the floor grommet and seal any flow of air through the slits.
