Wall Sanding Apparatus
20230228104 · 2023-07-20 ·

A wall sanding apparatus includes a plate having a top side, a bottom side, a front edge and a rear edge. An abrasive element for sanding joint compound has an upper surface that is removably attached to the bottom side and has lower surface comprising an abrasive surface. The abrasive element has a forward edge and a rearward edge respectively corresponding to the front edge and rear edge of the plate. The forward edge is adjacent to the front edge and is angled outwardly away and downwardly from the plate such that the forward edge extends forwardly of the front edge. An acute angle is formed at a juncture of the forward edge and the lower surface that is less than 75° and defines an angled edge for sanding corners of wall abutting each other to form angles of less than 180°.

VERSATILE DRYWALL COMPOUND TOOL

A versatile compound tool comprises a handle assembly having a first end and a second end. The handle assembly includes a handle along the first end and an extension extending from the handle along the second end including a first connection feature. The versatile compound tool includes a first implement having a first end and a second end. The first implement comprises a second connection feature along the first end and is configured for a first function along the second end. The versatile compound tool further comprises a retainer. The first implement is removably securable to the handle assembly by the retainer when the first connection feature is engaged to the second connection feature so that the first implement is selectively removable for assembly of a second implement. The second implement comprises a first end and a second end and is configured for a second function along the second end. The second implement includes a second connection feature along the first end. The first implement is configured for forming compound in an internal corner and the second implement is configured for forming compound on an external corner.

Surface repair tool

A surface repair tool for repairing defects in surfaces includes a handle with an applicator blade extending from one end of the handle and a sanding device extending from the opposite end of the handle. The handle includes a receptacle into which is removably received a container of repair compound. The applicator blade includes an application surface and a flow passage that has an inlet and an orifice formed through the application surface. Squeezing the container causes repair compound in the container to flow through the flow passage of the applicator blade and out of the orifice where it is dispensed onto the applicator surface to be spread on a surface needing repair. Once the repair compound dries, the sanding device is used to sand the repair compound to a desire finish.

Automated drywall painting system and method

An automated painting system that includes a robotic arm and a painting end effector coupled at a distal end of the robotic arm, with the painting end effector configured to apply paint to a target surface. The painting system can also include a computing device executing a computational planner that: generates instructions for driving the painting end effector and robotic arm to perform at least one painting task that includes applying paint, via the painting the end effector, to a plurality of drywall pieces, the generating based at least in part on obtained target surface data; and drives the end effector and robotic arm to perform the at least one painting task.

A joint compound application assembly for applying joint compound on drywall includes a rod that has a conduit integrated therein. The conduit is fluidly coupled to a source of joint compound thereby facilitating the joint compound to be urged through the conduit. A box is coupled to the rod and the box has a bottom end that is open into an interior of the box. A spray bar is fluidly coupled to the conduit and the spray bar is directed toward the bottom end of the box to spray the joint compound onto a wall or ceiling. A knife is coupled to the box to smooth the joint compound on the wall or ceiling.

A grout float and a handle for use with the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the grout float, the handle is secured to a blade, which may be encased with a pliable pad. The handle includes two mounting noses. Each of the two mounting noses includes a pair of lateral sidewalls traversing lateral surfaces of the handle and burgeoning downwardly. The lateral sidewalls transfer force from the handle to the blade upon the pliable pad of the grout float angularly contacting a work surface. A gripping portion of the handle located between the two mounting noses may having a non-linear profile.
