A working device for carrying out fitting or maintenance work in an elevator shaft includes at least one working platform having a standing surface and a railing. The standing surface affords space for at least one person and the railing at least partially encloses the standing surface. The working device also includes at least one additional platform that is attachable to the railing of the working platform, and wherein the additional platform affords an additional standing surface for at least one person. The additional standing surface is arranged above the railing of the working platform.

A temporary platform for assembling elevator equipment in an elevator shaft is arranged substantially in the region of a shaft opening, such that the platform partially sits on a floor surface of the building and partially protrudes into the elevator shaft. The platform includes a bottom frame and bottom plates that lie on or are inserted into the bottom frame. The bottom frame also includes two lateral bottom bars, at least one front and one rear transverse bar that interconnect the two lateral bottom bars, and at least two intermediate bars that are arranged parallel to the two lateral bottom bars. The two intermediate bars are supported substantially by the front and the rear transverse bars.

A lean-to rigging apparatus is described for installation in a shaft, such as an elevator shaft, having a wall and including at least one sill opposite the wall. The rigging apparatus includes a spanning beam, a sill support structure, a wall support member, and a hoist connector. The sill support structure on a first end of the spanning beam is designed to seat against a sill in the in the shaft while the wall support member on a second end of the spanning beam abuts against the opposite shaft wall. The sill support structure is rigidly connected to the spanning beam in a hingeless configuration and can seat against a sill in a plurality of seating positions. These seating positions allow the rigging apparatus to be positioned in a plurality of angles and therefore to be installed in shafts of different dimensions. The hoist connector is configured to allow a connection to a hoist device for hoisting various materials from one level to another within the shaft.

A system and method for creating an anchoring device that attaches between two nearby surfaces that may be oriented at different angles to each other about a vertical axis is described. The anchoring device includes a first and second support base that are fastened to a support surface, and a cross member that extends between the support bases and is pivotable about a vertical axis with respect to the support bases. The cross member may be adjustable in length. The anchoring device can be used to support an end of a plank to make a platform. The other end of the plank may be supported by a second anchoring device or another support surface.

A building site device includes a climbing formwork platform for the floor-by-floor production of concreting portions of a building core having at least one elevator shaft. An elevator system has an elevator machine platform vertically movable in the elevator shaft. In order to minimize the use of lifting cranes and the manual raising of supporting structures, the elevator machine platform can be moved jointly with the climbing formwork platform.

A system and method for creating an anchoring device that attaches between two nearby surfaces that may be oriented at different angles to each other about a vertical axis is described. A break-away canopy assembly configured for use with a work platform in an elevator hoistway is provided. The break-away canopy assembly includes a plurality of spaced apart canopy posts in a substantially vertical orientation. A first support framework is connected to one or more of the spaced apart canopy posts. A second support framework is connected to one or more of the spaced apart canopy posts and opposes the first support framework. The first and second support frameworks each have connected first and second extension assemblies. One or more roof sections span and are connected to the first and second support frameworks. The first and second extension assemblies of the first support framework and the first and second extension assemblies of the second support frameworks are each configured to separate from each other in the event of an uncontrolled descent of the work platform.

An extendible lateral support arm having at least two elongate arm members coupled together and displaceable relative each other. The first arm defines a first end of the extendible arm. The second arm defines a second end of the extendible arm. The distance between the first end and the second end is variable. The first end presents a first head that can engage a building structure. The second end presents a second head that can be secured to an adjacent structure.
