The present invention relates to a device for connecting and separating masonry units, preferably bricks, which comprises a tubular body that fits the tubular shape of holes in the bricks. The device for connecting and separating comprises a portion that has a straight cross-section larger than the cross-section of the tubular body and disposed approximately midway along the length of the connector device, for separating the bricks that said device connects. The device also comprises at least one depression or channel along the entire length of the tubular body, the depression or channel acting as a spring. The connector allows walls to be assembled using only bricks and connectors so as to apply mortar ex post.

A mason line fastener includes first and second adjacent outer edges forming a first corner having an outer angle. A first inner surface and second inner surface intersect to form an inner angle. The inner angle is offset from the first outer angle. The first inner surface includes a groove that extends along at least a portion of its length and through the second inner surface and through the second outer edge. A mason line may be wound around a portion of the mason line fastener and threaded through the groove and held taut when placed in connection with a block.

An apparatus for forming a concrete column is disclosed. The apparatus may include a first column form half and a second column form half, which may be designed to be fitted together. The apparatus may also include a fastening system having at least one brace and a plurality of straps to fasten the first column form half with the second column form half to form a full column form. The full column form may then be filled with a poured concrete mixture, which when hardened or cured, may be a concrete column used in any number of structural or design applications.

A clamp for securing a brick line is disclosed. The clamp comprises two jaws that are spring biased towards one another to enable a brick to be gripped between the two jaws. Each of the jaws is provided with an anchoring point to which the line may be securely fastened.

A string groove masonry clamp having a clamp body with first and second clamp sides pivotally connected together and biased to clamp onto a masonry block to align a string positioning guide having a string groove at the edge of the apex of the corner of the block and an adjustable opposing jaw.

A mason line fastener includes first and second adjacent outer edges forming a first corner having an outer angle. A first inner surface and second inner surface intersect to form an inner angle. The inner angle is offset from the first outer angle. The first inner surface includes a groove that extends along at least a portion of its length and through the second inner surface and through the second outer edge. A mason line may be wound around a portion of the mason line fastener and threaded through the groove and held taut when placed in connection with a block.

A construction system for establishing alignment of a plurality of masonry building units is provided. The system includes a base having a base plate, a vertical extension extending vertically from the base plate, the vertical extension having a first hole through the vertical extension, and a leveling mechanism that adjusts an orientation of the base plate relative to a surface on which the base is located; a first pole removably attached to the vertical extension, the first pole having a first end, a second end, and a first hole through the first pole proximate to the first end; and a first pin removably attaching the first pole to the vertical extension, the first pin being located in the first hole of the vertical extension and the first hole of the first pole.

A construction system for establishing alignment of a plurality of masonry building units is provided. The system includes a base having a base plate, a vertical extension extending vertically from the base plate, the vertical extension having a first hole through the vertical extension, and a leveling mechanism that adjusts an orientation of the base plate relative to a surface on which the base is located; a first pole removably attached to the vertical extension, the first pole having a first end, a second end, and a first hole through the first pole proximate to the first end; and a first pin removably attaching the first pole to the vertical extension, the first pin being located in the first hole of the vertical extension and the first hole of the first pole.

A line guide (1) having: a body (3) having a base (5), and a pair of opposing sides (7,9); a pair of jaws (39,41), extending below the base (5), on opposite sides (7,9) of the body (3), wherein the jaws (39,41) have a closed position in which the jaws (39,41) have a first spacing, and an open position in which the jaws (39,41) have a second spacing, wider than the first spacing; means for indexing the jaws (39,41) between the open and closed positions; means for adjusting the first spacing; and a channel (19) extending parallel to the sides (7,9) of the body (3) and arranged to receive a line, and to hold the line above the base (5) of the body (3).

A corner block for supporting a builder's line mounted between posts is described, the corner block comprising a body for receiving the builder's line in use; a pair of gripping members, each gripping member having a gripping face engageable with surfaces of one of the posts in use; and a magnet mounted in the body so as to be associated with at least one of the pair of gripping faces, wherein the magnet has a magnetic force sufficient to attract it to the material of the post to which the gripping faces are applied in use.
