An upper relatively narrow part of a keyway has a small lateral width no more than 33% of the maximum width of a lower relatively wide part of the keyway and extends obliquely upwards along a first direction pointing away from a second lower side wall of a lower part and being inclined at a relatively small angle α, in the interval 3° to 12°, relative to the vertical mid-plane. The sideways or lateral location of the upper relatively narrow part of the keyway is such that an imaginary downward extension thereof, substantially in a second direction opposite to the first direction down to an outer cylindrical contour of the key plug, will fall onto the outer cylindrical contour at a same second side of the vertical mid-plane and inside the second lower side wall of the keyway.
A LOCK CONFIGURED TO BE OPERATED BY A KEY
A lock configured to be operated by a key, which includes a key shank, which at least in a part of its axial length includes a profile which is closed or semi-closed to define at least one cavity including a key coding. The lock includes a plug for receiving the key shank. The plug is rotatable with respect to a housing in the unlocked state of the lock and includes a keyway, which is defined by a predetermined geometry. At least one keyway shaping element is provided, which is formed separate from the plug and is fixed to the plug such that it is immovable relative to the plug when the key shank is inserted into the plug. A protruding portion of the at least one keyway shaping element protrudes into the keyway to redefine its geometry.
Key blank, a coded key and a cylinder lock and key system with improved stop arrangement
A substantially flat key blade extends from a grip portion along a longitudinal axis and includes a connecting portion adjoining to the grip portion, a major longitudinal bitting portion provided with a row of coded cuts, and a free tip portion. The connecting portion of the key blade is provided with a first selectable abutment surface facing in the forward direction. The first abutment surface is formed as a forward end surface of a longitudinal rib portion located at a lateral side of the upper relatively narrow part of the key blade at a vertical level lying within a vertical range of the bitting portion of the key blade and extending in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the key blade and being confined longitudinally to the connecting portion of the key blade and confined also within the contour of or slightly laterally outside a rectangle of the key blank.
Key for controlling a lock with a cylindrical plug and a lock for validating this key
A key that controls a lock with a cylindrical plug, the key having a shank the body of which has an external, rounded surface and forms a hollow, partially enclosed profile. The external rounded surface is shaped for turning the key in the lock cavity of the lock, while at least in the end part of the lateral section of the shank, an open cavity is created for inserting an arm of the validating lever of the lock. At least a part of the shank is U-shaped or V-shaped fitted with at least one open coding track and/or at least one coding channel with a shaped coding surface.
LOCK SYSTEM WITH ENHANCED KEYWAY VARIABILITY
A lock system may comprise a lock operating key for operating a lock, with the key including a bow and a blade extending from the bow along a longitudinal axis of the blade. The blade may include a blade wall with an arcuate main wall portion and a pair of side wall portions extending radially inward from opposite sides of the main wall portion. Bitting may be formed on the blade and be positioned on at least one of the side wall portions of the blade wall. The lock system may also include a lock plug defining a keyway having a transverse keyway profile configured to receive the blade of the key, with at least a portion of the keyway having an arcuate shape to receive the arcuate main wall portion of the blade wall of the key.
Profiled key for cylinder locks
A key for use in a cylinder lock with a rotatable key plug having an elongated key blade with a relatively wide lower portion and a relatively narrow upper portion. A step-like transition region between the wider lower portion and the narrow upper portion. The key blade includes a longitudinal profile groove located adjacent to the step-like transition region that extends along at least a portion of the length of the blade. An inner wall of groove is substantially parallel to a side surface of the lower portion of the key blade. The longitudinal profile groove includes an undercut portion adjacent to and inside a ridge portion of the key blade. The outside of ridge portion forms a part of the side surface of the blade in the relatively wide lower portion up to the step-like transition region and the inside of ridge portion facing inner wall of the groove.
A KEY FOR CONTROLLING A LOCK WITH A CYLINDRICAL PLUG AND A LOCK FOR VALIDATING THIS KEY
A key for controlling a lock with a cylindrical plug, where the body of its shank (10) is at least in a part of its length formed by a hollow, partially enclosed profile, the external rounded surface of which (16) is shaped for turning the key in the lock cavity, while at least in the end part (12) of the lateral section of the shank (10), an open cavity is created for inserting an arm of the validating lever (5) of the lock. At least a part of the shank (10) is created in the U- or V-shape, while in at least one such part of the shank (10), the bottom and/or the wall of the inner and outer arch of the shank (10) is fitted with at least one open coding track (9) and/or at least one coding channel (18) with a shaped coding surface. The lock for validating the key contains at least one cylindrical plug (1) rotatable in its housing (2), where in the plug body (1), a sprung sidebar (3) of the lock is situated in its outer longitudinal groove, pushed to the inner surface of the housing (2). The sidebar (3) is adapted for inserting into the turning validating levers (5) that are arranged in a row in the longitudinal axis of the plug (1) on the pivot in the plug (1) and they are located in the lateral slots (6) along the plug's (1) length. These validating levers (5) are in case of incorrect coding of the key (11) in a blocked functional state in a position preventing the inserting of the sidebar (3) into the groove (23) in the plug (1), and thus the turning of the plug (1) inside the housing (2) of the lock, while in the unblocked state in case of correct coding of the key (11), they are in the functional position allowing for the movement of the sidebar (3) in the direction into the groove (23) in the plug (1) and thus the turning of the plug (1) inside the housing (2) of the lock. The validating levers (5) at least partially protrude into the cavity of the key (11), by which they allow for achieving contact between the validating levers (5) and code carriers, which are the coding tracks (9) or channels (18) in the key (11).
Lock with key having extending arm elements
The lock with key having expanding arm elements is an electromechanical lock mechanism. The lock with key having expanding arm elements comprises a key structure, a lock structure, and a lock control circuit. The lock structure is a fastening device. The lock structure secures the position of a first object relative to a second object. The lock structure is a releasable structure such that the position of the first object relative to the second object can be adjusted after the lock structure is released. The lock control circuit is an electric circuit. The lock control circuit forms an electronic locking mechanism that fastens and releases the locking structure. The key structure is a multi-blade structure that controls the operation of the lock control circuit.
