A door security apparatus includes a door-locking member and a sensor assembly. The door-locking member removably engages a plate. The door-locking member is a barricade that restricts movement of a door from a closed position to an open position while the door-locking member is engaged with the plate The sensor assembly is configured to detect engagement between the door-locking member and the plate.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LATCHED ATTRIBUTES IN AN INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) SYSTEM

A system and method are described for implementing latched attributes within an IoT system. For example, one embodiment of a method comprises: specifying an attribute for each of a plurality of items of data managed in an Internet of Things (IoT) device and/or an IoT service, at least some of the attributes comprising latched attributes having a current value and an indication of state changes to the latched attribute over a period of time; when an IoT device is unable to connect with the IoT service for a period of time maintaining an indication of any state changes occurring to the latched attribute over the period of time; upon establishing a successful connection between the IoT device and the IoT service after the period of time, transmitting the indication of state changes of the latched attribute from the IoT device to the IoT service; and analyzing the indication of state changes to determine whether to generate an alert condition on the IoT service.

LOCKING APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF PROVIDING ACCESS CONTROL

Apparatuses, systems, and methods are provided for detecting an alert status of a locking apparatus for an entry point. An external force may be received at a locking apparatus operating in a locked state and determining a first indicia corresponding to the received external force, separately receiving an indication of the external force at an accelerometer of the locking apparatus and determining a second indicia corresponding to the received indication of the external force, comparing the first indicia and the second indicia to determine an alert condition, and selectively performing at least one alert operation corresponding to the determined alert condition.

TRAILER DOOR HASP LOCK

A dual hasp conventional trailer door lock has a lever arm that is secured between a fixed lower hasp and a swivel upper hasp so as to align an upper hasp hole with a lower hasp hole. The present invention has an elongate body that rests against the door to cover the two hasps. A lockable pin is manually pushed through the holes from a key end to an anchor end of the lock body. An electronic motion sensor is housed in a hollow in the body. Any tampering of the body triggers any one of an alarm sound and/or phone transmission and/or flashing strobe light.

Method and system for operating an electronic device

A method and system for operating an electronic device are provided. The method may include one or more of the following operations. At least one request related to an electronic device may be transmitted. The at least one request includes a controlling request, a communication protocol determining request, or a firmware upgrade request. Operating data generated based on the at least one request may be obtained. The electronic device may be operated based on the operating data.

Supplemental door lock and alert system

An alert system configured to monitor a status of one or more supplemental door locks comprises a switch assembly and an alarm. The switch assembly is configured to detect whether one supplemental door lock is unlocked or locked and includes a switch, an indicator, and a communication element. The switch is to be coupled to a locking component of the supplemental door lock. The switch is configured to sense a position of the locking component and generate an electronic signal or data. The indicator is configured to provide a first indication of a status of the supplemental door lock. The communication element is configured to receive the electronic signal or data from the switch and generate a wireless signal that corresponds to the electronic signal or data. The alarm is configured to generate an audible or visible alarm when the switch assembly detects that the supplemental door lock is locked.

Portions of a Device; Methods of Making and Using Them

A first portion of a security device, the first portion configured to have a separate state with respect to a second portion and a combined state with respect to the second portion, such that when in the combined state, the first portion is mated, interlocked, and/or locked with the second portion to collectively form the security device.
