Disclosed is a two-alarm security device that will alarm if the security device is forcibly removed from an article or item without detachment by a corresponding detachment device, and the security device will cause the pedestals in a store to alarm if the article or item is passed through the pedestals with the device still attached. The two-alarm security device comprises a slider operatively movable along a stop piece and a spring-biased engagement member that is operatively moveable into the housing of the stop piece. As the slider and engagement member move from an open position to a closed position, the security device alarm is actuated. A pressure pad attached to the engagement member assists in gently, but sufficiently securing an article between the slider and engagement member. If the article is improperly removed from the security device or otherwise tampered with, the spring-biased engagement member will cause a micro-switch to alarm.

An electronic article surveillance device with an electronics housing and base attaches to an article to be protected. The housing and base have connecting interfaces which act together to attach the housing to the base. The housing has a switch on the underside and the base has an aperture partially covered by a flexible tab that aligns with the switch. The flexible tab normally protrudes away from the bottom surface of the base. When the base is attached to an article, the tab is pushed back into the aperture. When the housing is attached to the base, the switch contacts the tab. If the EAS device is removed from the base without disarming the device, the tab moves out of the aperture and allows the switch to detect the removal. The EAS device then issues an alarm. The flexible tab may a piercing element to pierce plastic wrapping, if present.

An adjustable anti-theft case (1) is described, of the type comprising item removal preventing means (2) from inside of the case (1) and comprising at least one side along its height (3) and one side along its depth (4, 44) which have a length substantially corresponding to or lower than the minimum length of the corresponding sides dell′item (2) of minimum sizes, at least one (3, 4, 44) of the sides (3, 4, 44) being made able to be elongated, through at least one extension (6, 46), over the minimum length, the side able to be elongated (3, 4, 44) being designed to be blocked in its elongation condition through the engagement between first engaging teeth (7) present on the extension (6, 46) and locking and unlocking means (14, 24) made of ferromagnetic material connected to the side able to be elongated (3, 4, 44) and projecting from its surface oriented towards the surface of the extension (6, 46), the side able to be elongated (3, 4, 44) being further designed to be unlocked from its elongation condition through the disengagement between the first engaging teeth (7) and the locking and unlocking means (14, 24) by means of a magnetic attraction force, the extension (6, 46) being equipped with at least one row of first engaging teeth (7) arranged next to a side end (15, 16, 55, 56) of the extension (6, 46), the locking and unlocking means (14, 24) being arranged next to at least one side end (25, 26, 65, 66) of the side able to be elongated (3, 4, 44).

A security device for a retail item or packaging has housing that retains a gear that is operably connected to a pawl with two arms. One arm of the pawl is operably engaged by the gear. The other arm of the pawl is operably engaged with an unlocking key within the housing. The unlocking key is operably controlled by an unlocking tool by inserting a portion of the unlocking tool into a complementary portion of the unlocking key through a keyway formed in the housing. The unlocking key may have a magnet or components that are attracted to a magnet that enable the unlocking key to disengage a slot formed in the housing to allow the unlocking key to rotate to move the pawl. The housing may additionally be formed with a channel that allows a plurality of similarly constructed security devices to be tethered or daisy-chained together.

Apparatuses and methods associated with a substance release benefit denial security device are provided. One example security device includes a container, a locking assembly affixed to the container, and an electronic assembly affixed to the container. The electronic assembly may include a radio frequency receiver and processing circuitry. The security device may also include a benefit denial assembly, which includes a substance disposed in a canister and a release mechanism configured to release the substance into the container. The processing circuitry may be configured to receive a gate detected signal from the radio frequency receiver in response to the radio frequency receiver receiving a wireless signal, and in response to receiving the gate detected signal from the radio frequency receiver, transmit a release signal to the release mechanism to trigger the release mechanism to release the substance into the container.

An example security device is provided that includes a core and a shuttle. The core includes an internal jaw and a guide surface and a distance between the internal jaw and the guide surface varies across a length of the core. The shuttle includes an opening that forms an external jaw. A jaw gap is defined between the internal jaw and the external jaw that is configured to receive a portion of an item to protect.

An example security device is provided that includes a core and a shuttle. The core includes an internal jaw and a guide surface and a distance between the internal jaw and the guide surface varies across a length of the core. The shuttle includes an opening that forms an external jaw. A jaw gap is defined between the internal jaw and the external jaw that is configured to receive a portion of an item to protect.

An electronic article surveillance device with an electronics housing and base attaches to an article to be protected. The housing and base have connecting interfaces which act together to attach the housing to the base. The housing and base have matching apertures. A switch and a wrapping splitter extend from the housing through the apertures. The switch detects when the device is attached to an object and the wrapping splitter splits the wrapping to prevent the wrapping from being used to defeat the switch. Electronics monitor the status of the switch. The apparatus may employ a restraining mechanism to prevent the operation of the wrapping splitter unless the housing is attached to the base. The housing and base may be attached to each other by a manually movable latch, which may also actuate the wrapping splitter. Electronics in the apparatus receive and send signals.
