Twist lock design for underhood striker plate
A striker plate includes a base having a surface for contacting a switch and a wall. At least one support projects from the wall. The at least one support supports the base in a hood inner panel. At least one locking tab extends from the wall. The at least one locking tab engages a cutout on the panel. The support is positioned with respect to the respective locking tab so that the support engage the cutouts. Upon rotation of the base, the locking tab engages the cutout locking the base in place on the hood inner panel.
Method for unlocking a hood of a vehicle
A method for unlocking a hood of a vehicle in which a latch and a safety catch are arranged for engaging a striker and a locking member is arranged for engaging the safety catch. The method includes displacing the safety catch if a predetermined vehicle condition is fulfilled from a closed state wherein the safety catch is in locking engagement with the striker to an open state where the safety catch is disengaged from the striker for moving the hood locking mechanism from the intermediate locked mode to an open mode.
DEVICES, STRUCTURES, AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING LATCHING OPERATIONS
Various disclosed embodiments include illustrative devices, systems, and methods. In an illustrative embodiment, a device includes a latch motor configured to generate a power value, a position sensor configured to generate a striker pin position signal, a processor configured to communicate with the latch motor and the position sensor, and a memory configured to store computer-executable instructions. The computer-executable instructions are configured to cause the processor to determine the striker pin position in response to the generated striker pin position signal, detect an obstruction in response to the striker pin position and the power value, and perform an anti-pinch function in response to the detected obstruction.
Vehicle hood lock device
A vehicle hood lock device includes a base including a groove for entry of a striker, a latch that pivots between a restraining position and a release position, a locking lever engaging the latch, a torsion spring causing the latch to pivot in a direction toward the release position, and a sub-plate fixed to the base by a latch pin supporting the latch and a locking pin supporting the locking lever. The torsion spring includes a cylindrical portion. The sub-plate integrally includes a basal portion, a circumferential wall portion rising up from the basal portion in a pivot axis direction of the latch, facing the cylindrical portion in a radial direction thereof and restricting movement of the torsion spring in the radial direction, and a brim portion protruding outward in the radial direction from the circumferential wall portion and restricting movement of the torsion spring in the pivot axis direction.
VEHICLE HOOD LEVER ASSEMBLY
A vehicle hood lever assembly has a latch mechanism, a latch lever and a striker structure. The latch mechanism has a latching member movable between a hood locking orientation and a hood unlocking orientation. The latch lever attaches to the latch mechanism at a location spaced apart from the latching member movable between a hood. catching orientation and a hood release orientation. The striker structure has a main striker member and a secondary striker member. With the striker structure moving toward the latch mechanism, a surface of the secondary striker member contacts a portion of the latch lever moving the latch lever from the hood release orientation to the hood catching orientation. In response to continued movement of the striker structure toward the latch mechanism, the main striker member engages the latching member and is restrained against further movement with the latching member being moved into the hood locking orientation.
Pop-up hood apparatus for vehicle
A pop-up hood apparatus includes a hood, a hood lock mechanism, an actuator for raising, and an auxiliary support section configured to support a side edge portion of the hood from below upon an actuation of the actuator. The auxiliary support section includes a load receiving block configured to support the side edge portion of the hood from below, a biasing member configured to bias the load receiving block upward, a displacement restricting member configured to restrict upward displacement of the load receiving block, and a restriction releasing section configured to release upward displacement restriction of the load receiving block according to upward displacement of the hood lock mechanism. The displacement restricting member is displaced to a position that abuts a lower surface of the load receiving block when the load receiving block that has been released upward displacement restriction is displaced upward by a predetermined amount or more.
Securing device comprising a manually unlockable front hood
Disclosed is a securing device (1), comprising a front hood (2) and a hood lock (3) with a lock holder (10), for a motor vehicle; the hood lock (3) includes a rotary latch (4) featuring a pre-locking position and a main locking position, and an electric drive (5) for switching the rotary latch (4) from the main locking position into the pre-locking position, the front hood (2) being closed and locked in the main locking position; in the pre-locking position of the rotary latch, the front hood (2) can be manually moved from a locked position of the front hood (2) in which the lock holder (10) engages the rotary latch (4) and the front hood (2) is locked, into an unlocked position of the front hood (2) in which the lock holder (10) is released by the rotary latch (4) and the front hood (2) is unlocked.
Front Lid Latch Apparatus for Vehicle
An embodiment front lid latch apparatus for a vehicle includes a pawl lever movable between an engaging position and a disengaging position by a first actuator, a latch lever assembly movable between a first hold position and a first releasable position by a movement of the pawl lever, a safety lever movable between a second hold position and a second releasable position by a second actuator, and an emergency lever operatively connected to the pawl lever and the safety lever, and movable between a first position and a second position by a manually operable emergency release cable.
Vehicle pop-up hood apparatus
A pop-up hood apparatus includes a hood, a hood lock mechanism, a support mechanism, an actuator, and a pair of auxiliary support parts. The support mechanism has a movable block and a base block. Each auxiliary support part includes: a load reception block that is capable of supporting the side edge part of the hood from below; a biasing member that biases the load reception block upward; and a displacement regulation member that regulates an upward displacement from an initial position of the load reception block against a biasing force of the biasing member. The movable block and the displacement regulation member are interlocked by an interlock part that displaces the displacement regulation member in a regulation release direction in response to an upward displacement of the movable block by the actuator.
