A transmission acts between the movable an operating elements and kinematically connects the movable and operating elements such that movement of the movable element causes rotation of the operating element. An uncoupling device acts on the transmission for disengaging kinematically, and in a controlled way, the movable element from the operating element to disable actuation of the operating element by the movable element.

A lock includes a base and movable element connected to a handle operable by a user and movable between a first position corresponding to an open condition of the handle and a second position corresponding to a closed condition. An operating element is rotatably mounted on the base and connected to a device for releasing a closing panel, and is rotatable between a first position corresponding to an open condition of the panel and a second position corresponding to a closed condition. A latch assembly comprises an exterior housing, a door latch, a plunger, a resilient member, and an external lever pivotally mounted on an outer face of the exterior housing. The external lever comprises a first leg, a second leg disposed at an angle relative to the first leg, and a pivot mount disposed between the first leg and the second leg. The plunger is maintained in the latched position when the external lever is in a latched position by the resilient member, whereby an entry door cannot be unintentionally shifted from the closed position. The plunger is displaced from the latched position to the unlatched position when the external lever is rotated from the latched position to the unlatched position by the second leg bearing against the plunger, whereby the entry door is free to be shifted from the closed position to the open position.

A latch assembly comprises an exterior housing, a door latch, a plunger, a resilient member, and an external lever pivotally mounted on an outer face of the exterior housing. The external lever comprises a first leg, a second leg disposed at an angle relative to the first leg, and a pivot mount disposed between the first leg and the second leg. The plunger is maintained in the latched position when the external lever is in a latched position by the resilient member, whereby an entry door cannot be unintentionally shifted from the closed position. The plunger is displaced from the latched position to the unlatched position when the external lever is rotated from the latched position to the unlatched position by the second leg bearing against the plunger, whereby the entry door is free to be shifted from the closed position to the open position.

An apparatus for providing improved security to an outward-swing door of a vehicle. The outward-swing door is on a sidewall of a main housing of the vehicle and has a pivotal end and a distal end opposite to the pivotal end. The outward-swing door is outwardly pivotable about the pivotal end thereof. The apparatus comprises a connecting structure for coupling to a bottom wall of the main housing, a base structure for coupling to the connecting structure so as to locate adjacent the outward-swing door and outside a swing path of the outward-swing door, and a blocking structure demountably coupled to the base structure, at least a portion thereof extendable into the swing path of the outward-swing door for restricting the outward-swing door to open to a predefined maximum extent.

A lock includes an internal facing portion and an external facing portion, a lever assembly, a housing cover on the external facing portion of the lock including a lock assembly having a locked position and a unlocked position and a button cap. The button cap extends into a first groove of the housing cover and engages a silicon sleeve sealing the button cap and the housing cover. A housing includes a trigger button and an inner seal to engage a second groove sealing the housing and the housing cover, and an anchoring frame on the internal facing portion of the lock coupled to the housing. The trigger button extends through the anchoring frame, and the trigger button is accessible from the internal facing portion of the lock to releasably actuate the lock assembly.
