Method of attaching and detaching objects allowing for controlled rotation
11629536 · 2023-04-18 ·

An apparatus for attaching and detaching hard objects allowing for rotation wherein protrusions built in or attached to one object are forced into cavity sockets built in or attached to another by causing force resulting in momentary bending of protrusions or the cavities. The sequential bending causes curvilinear motion allowing protrusions to enter otherwise inaccessible cavity sockets. Once in, the components of the joining mechanism revert to natural position and an equilibrium is reached which keeps the objects attached, yet free to move around an axis. This equilibrium can only be disturbed by causing force at specific points on the mechanism and pulling the objects apart in a curvilinear motion, thereby detaching the objects in one continuous motion with little effort. Momentary bending necessary to operate the apparatus is made possible by empty space in the casing housing the mechanism. Permitted angles of rotation are controllable and attached objects can be locked in a position.

An anti-ligature hinge for a door and associated methods and systems are provided. The anti-ligature hinge has a hinge bracket operatively associable with a support and a hinge member operatively associable with a leaf. The hinge member is connectable to the hinge bracket and rotatable relative to the hinge bracket about an axis of rotation. The hinge member can disconnect from the hinge bracket in response to a threshold force acting along or transverse to the axis or rotation. This hinge is for eliminating ligature points in doors where vulnerable individuals are to be left unsupervised.

Releasable Hinge

A releasable hinge system having a first component having a circular hinge pin and an arcuate guide fixed thereto. The system further includes a second component having a u-shaped member having an annular groove concentric with and matingly received by the hinge pin. The second component also has an arcuate channel received by the arcuate guide. The method of assembling a hinge includes the steps of providing a first component having a hinge pin and an arcuate guide. The method further includes the step of providing a second component having a u-shaped member having an annular groove concentric with the hinge pin. The second component having an arcuate channel. The method also includes the steps of orienting the first and second components at an angle of 60° relative to each other, causing the u-shaped member to receive the hinge pin, and enabling the second component to rotate within the annular groove about the hinge pin.

Disassemblable hinge with a safety catch

The invention relates to a disassemblable hinge (1) having a latching member (2), adapted to be associated with an openable door (20), and a hinge member (3), adapted to be associated with a corresponding door frame (21). The latching member (2) comprises a main body (4) and a catch (5), wherein said main body (4) comprises a hinge slot (6) adapted to receive said hinge member (3), wherein said catch (5) is rotatably engageable with said hinge member (3) around a first axis (A1). The catch (5) is movable between a closed state and an open state, and into a disengaged state. The catch (5) and said hinge slot (6) defines a space (14) for housing said hinge member, wherein said catch (5), in its closed state, locks said hinge member (3) in said space (14). The space (14) is expanded when said catch (5) is moved from said closed state to said disengaged state. The catch (5) is moved from said disengaged state to said open state by rotating said catch (5) around a second axis (A2), thereby releasing said hinge member (3) from said space (14). Thereby a disassemblable hinge is provided enabling a secure opening operation in a two step maneuver.

HINGE ASSEMBLY WITH COMMON ACTUATION
20230175297 · 2023-06-08 ·

A hinge assembly having at least two hinge locks for locking a door leaf relative to a door frame and for tilting the door leaf relative to the door frame, wherein an actuation device for common actuation of the hinge locks is provided. The disclosure also relates to a door comprising a hinge assembly and to a method for mounting a hinge assembly.

Enhanced hinge and method for pivotally and removably connecting a member with a structure

An enhanced hinge and method pivotally and removably connects a member from a structure. In one example, the hinge and method retains the member using a first hinge piece coupled to the structure and a second hinge piece coupled to the member. The first and second hinge pieces may be configured such that the second hinge piece is retained inside the first hinge piece in a closed position and is not free to be decoupled from the first hinge piece but is free to pivot to an open position at the closed position. At the open position the second hinge piece is inverted as compared to its position in the closed position, is free to pass through the first hinge piece and is free to be decoupled from the first hinge piece.
