EMERGENCY BI-FOLD DOOR CLOSING PREVENTION SYSTEM
An emergency bi-fold door closing prevention system includes a building having an access opening with an upper edge. A bi-fold door is hingedly mounted to the building wall and includes a plurality of panels each being laterally elongated. The plurality of panels includes a bottom panel having a bottom edge that is positionable adjacent to a floor surface to define a closed position. A safety line assembly is attached to and extends between the building wall adjacent to the upper edge and the bi-fold door adjacent to the bottom edge. The safety line has an extendable length. The length of the safety line assembly extends when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position below a threshold velocity. The length of the safety line assembly is inhibited from extending when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position above the threshold velocity to prevent unimpeded falling of the bi-fold door.
Decouplable power drive for tailgates
A control device is used to move a pick-up truck tailgate. The control device comprises a first gear arrangement connected to a drive cup and a second gear arrangement that is connected to a motor for driving the second gear arrangement. The control device also includes a clutch arrangement positioned between the first and second gear arrangements. When the clutch arrangement is in an engaged position, it couples the first gear arrangement and the second gear arrangement to transmit torque to the first gear arrangement and the drive cup. When the clutch arrangement is in the disengaged position, the first and second gear arrangements are not coupled. Optionally, the control device comprises a brake unit to slow or stop movement of the tailgate. The control device can be positioned within the pick-up truck tailgate.
Actuator for moving a furniture flap
An actuating drive includes an actuating arm pivotally supported about a pivoting axis, and movably supported between a closed position and an open position. A force storage member applies a force to the actuating arm, and a coupling device can brake or prevent a pivotal movement of the actuating arm. The coupling device includes a movably-supported first coupling element having a tooth arrangement, and the first coupling element can engage a second coupling element when a predetermined pivotal speed of the actuating arm is exceeded to brake or prevent the pivotal movement of the actuating arm. The second coupling element includes an engagement section for engaging the two coupling elements together, and includes a freewheel section separate from the engagement section. In the closed position, the first coupling element is within the freewheel section of the second coupling element, whereby the two coupling elements are decoupled from one another.

In the closed position, the first coupling element is within the freewheel section of the second coupling element, whereby the two coupling elements are decoupled from one another.
Vehicle provided with a sliding door
A vehicle having a door slidably mounted on a shell. The vehicle includes at least one assistance device, comprising both a winder carrying a strap and a receptacle, the winder including a brake for braking unwinding of the strap from the winder, one of the winder and receptacle being fastened to the shell and one of the winder and receptacle being fastened to the door, the strap carrying a latchplate suitable for being reversibly attached to the receptacle.
Vehicular opening/closing body control device
A vehicular opening/closing body control device includes a braking controller configured to apply a braking force to an opening/closing body, a full-closing detection unit configured to detect that the opening/closing body is in a fully-closed state, and a failure detection unit configured to detect failure of a latch mechanism provided on the opening/closing body. The latch mechanism is provided with a pawl switch, which is switched between ON and OFF states in conjunction with operation of a pawl. The failure detection unit detects, based on the ON and OFF states of the pawl switch, occurrence of an engagement failure in which the latch mechanism fails to hold the opening/closing body in the fully-closed state. The braking controller executes braking control for applying the braking force to the opening/closing body when the engagement failure is detected in the latch.
Inertia device in an armrest console
An inertia device is provided for attaching under a cover of an armrest console in a vehicle. The inertia device comprises a flap to be pivotally connected to a lower surface of the cover at a location adjacent to a front of the cover; and a resilient member connected to the flap and the cover. The flap and the resilient member are configured such that the flap is maintained at a normal position by a retaining force of the resilient member and rotated downward from the normal position when a g-force applied to the flap exceeds a predetermined level.
SAFETY DEVICE FOR AUTOMATED DOOR SYSTEMS, DOOR SYSTEM EQUIPPED THEREWITH AND OPERATING METHOD FOR SUCH A DOOR SYSTEM
A safety device of an automated door system has a sensor device for arrangement on the door system such that a detection region of the sensor device covers a danger region of a door leaf using sensors. The sensor device detects the presence of an object within the detection region and has a control device for changinge the detection region on the basis of a current movement speed of the door leaf and/or to actuate the drive of the door leaf in the event of a safety response such that a braking distance of the door leaf is adapted to the current movement speed of the door leaf. The use of the safety device in a door drive with a drive unit for moving, or in a door system with, the associated door leaf an automated door system, and an operating method for the door system are also related.
