Base slat pry stopper
A base slat pry stopper, such as a base slat locking bracket, for locking a rolling shutter curtain covering an opening of a structure is disclosed. The base slat pry stopper may include a bracket base plate mounted to an opening bottom wall on an interior side of the shutter curtain, and a base slat engagement portion extending upward from the bracket base plate and above a top surface of the opening bottom wall. When the shutter curtain is unrolled to cover the opening, the base slat engagement portion engages the base slat to prevent the base slat from deflecting upward away from the opening bottom wall when a force applied from an exterior side of the shutter curtain causes the base slat to deflect toward the interior side of the structure and the shutter curtain. The base slat pry stopper may be permanently or removably installed.
ROLLING SHUTTER LOCKING SYSTEM
A locking system for a rolling shutter that includes a plurality of rolling shutter slats, comprises a guide track with a U-shaped guide channel having a channel base, and first and second channel walls. A lock bar is coupled to the rolling shutter slats. In a locked position, the lock bar extends transverse to the channel base. The lock bar has a notch covered by a breakaway wall that is aligned with the channel base in the locked position. The lock bar may be slidably received in a sleeve that is positioned in the guide channel to increase resistance to torsional forces on the locking system. In an alternative embodiment, the locking system comprises a unitary extruded body, a lock bar, and a handle. A longitudinal channel is formed integrally in the body for receiving the lock bar and handle. The lock bar is slidable in the channel between an extended locked position and a retracted unlocked position. The handle is positioned in the channel to stop the retraction of the lock bar at the unlocked position.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO ADJUST DOOR OPERATIONS IN RESPONSE TO SURFACE PRESSURE LOADS
Methods and apparatus to adjust door operations in response to surface pressure loads are disclosed. An apparatus includes sensor feedback analyzer circuitry to detect a surface pressure load acting on a door based on feedback from a sensor. The door includes a panel to move along a track. The apparatus also includes operations controller circuitry to control operations of the door. The operations controller circuitry is to automatically adjust an operation of the door in response to detection of the surface pressure load.
ROLLING SHUTTER PROTECTION
A rolling shutter mechanism and a method for protecting a rolling shutter assembly covering an opening. The rolling shutter assembly includes a shutter, guide rails, a shutter roller and a locking mechanism. The rolling shutter mechanism includes protecting means to cover the rolling shutter assembly. The protecting means include a protecting box covering the shutter roller, protecting frames covering the guide rails and a protecting unit covering the lower part of the shutter when it is in its closed position.
Low Friction High Speed Roll Door at High Wind Loads
A high speed roll door is movable between an open and a closed position at an opening of a building. The door includes a flexible curtain and a pair of side columns. Each side column provides an inner track to guide the curtain in vertical movement and restrain the curtain from lateral movement during deployment and retraction. The curtain further includes multiple cross bars supporting the flexible curtain from one of the pair of side columns to the other. Each of the cross bars further includes a first longitudinal bar sandwiching part of the curtain; and a second longitudinal bar pivotally connected to the first longitudinal bar. The hinge has an axis of rotation parallel to the first and the second longitudinal bars. At least a wheel is rotatably affixed to each end of the second longitudinal bar to engage the inner track of each of the side columns.
System for a lock closure, a lock for use with such a system, and a closure system
A system for a closure lock comprises a battery-powered remote module with a lock mechanism for operating the lock, the remote module communicating with a base station coupled to a closure controller, the base station able to send lock control signals to the remote module to operate the lock. The module is arranged to have an operation mode and a non-operation mode, power consumption in the non-operation mode being lower than that in the operation mode, and is further configured to switch between the modes based on instructions from the base station. In the non-operation mode, the module maintains a communication link with the base station based on a pre-established synchronisation protocol.
The invention provides reliability against interference between base station and remote module, whilst greatly limiting the power consumption of the remote module.
ROLLER SHUTTER LOCK ASSEMBLY
A shutter locking assembly that has a bolt carriage with a bolt slidingly engageable with the bolt carriage and a biasing (actuator) means operatively connected to the bolt member and the bolt carriage. The bolt carriage is inserted into a cavity of a shutter slat, and the action of moving the shutter slat between an up (open) position and a down (locked) position, causing the bolt to be moved between an extended position and a retracted position. When the shutter slat is in a down (locked) position the bolt engages with a bolt receiving opening adjacent to the shutter slat, and when in an up (open position) the bolt is retracted
INDUSTRIAL DOOR LOCK
A locking mechanism for use with a door structure having a corrugated surface includes a main body having a corrugated surface. The locking mechanism is configured to be adjustable between an unlocked position where the corrugated surface of the main body is not nested relative to the corrugated surface of the door structure and a locked position where the corrugated surface of the main body is nested relative to the corrugated surface of the door structure. The corrugated surface of the main body includes a plurality of engagement surfaces. Each of the engagement surfaces is configured to resist movement and/or deformation of the door structure with respect to a direction of movement of the door structure associated with the door structure being moved from a closed position towards an open position.
Electromagnetically operated protection mechanism, system, and method
A room protection mechanism for protecting access through a window or doorway includes a flexible barrier sheet adjustable between a collapsed, storage configuration, and a deployed configuration. The protection mechanism includes a housing storing the flexible barrier sheet in the collapsed configuration. Sheet magnetic elements are attached to the flexible barrier sheet, and structured to magnetically couple to frame magnetic elements mounted to a frame of the doorway or window. The protection mechanism can be deployed, such as in a school or other institutional setting, to position the flexible barrier sheet to block access through the doorway or window. The flexible barrier sheet may be formed of or include a ballistic material.
