Door assembly for selectively interlocking opposing doors
A door assembly for selectively interlocking opposing doors each pivotably mounted at a hinge side thereof to a door frame so as to both open and close in the same direction includes a door handle assembly mounted to one door at a latch side thereof opposite the hinge side and carrying a first plurality of magnets, and another door handle assembly mounted to the other door at a latch side thereof opposite the hinge side and carrying a second plurality of magnets. The door handle assemblies are arranged relative to each other with the first and second pluralities of magnets aligned such each aligned pair of the first and second pluralities of magnets have opposite magnetic polarities, and the aligned first and second pluralities of magnets magnetically couple to each other as the door handle assemblies are brought into contact with each other.
Automatic Door with a Hinged Swinging Partial Door
A door assembly may include a first sidelite configured to be operably coupled to a first door jamb, a second sidelite configured to be operably coupled to a second door jamb where the first and second sidelites are disposed in a common plane and define a door opening between the first and second sidelites, a first sliding panel, a second sliding panel where the first and second sliding panels are movable from a closed position disposing the first and second sliding panels to block access through the door opening and an open position in which the first sliding panel is proximate the first sidelite and the second sliding panel is proximate the second sidelite, a first partial door panel, and a second partial door panel. The first and second sliding panels are disposed in a second plane parallel to the common plane in both the open and closed position. The first and second partial door panels are operably coupled to the first and second sidelites, respectively, via hinge assemblies. The first and second partial door panels have a closed state in which the first and second partial door panels are each disposed in the common plane blocking access through the door opening, and an open state in which the first and second partial door panels are each disposed out of the common plane.
INTEGRATED CARD READER
A door entry system for operating a door using a wireless transmitter device containing identification credentials of a user. The system includes a door operable by an uncoupling or releasing securing mechanism, a door controller capable of operating the uncoupling or releasing securing mechanism and a door handle for grasping by the user to operate the door, the handle having a cavity, the handle being secured to the door and spaced away from a surface thereof. The system includes a wireless device reader disposed in the handle cavity and a power source connected to the card reader. The wireless transmitter may be presented in the vicinity of the reader in the door handle and, upon verification of the credentials transmitted from the wireless transmitter device, the reader sends a signal to the door controller to uncouple or release the securing mechanism and permit the door to open.
Electrical Mullion Receptacle
A door mullion receptacle box assembly includes a toe plate, a channel box and block components. When a mullion is removed from a building/room opening, the toe plate may be fixed in the mullion receptacle box thus creating a uniform threshold across the width of the door openings. Using the assembly described herein, however, there are no large diameter holes in the top of the toe plate and no projections into the opening that could be a trip hazard. The present assembly replaces traditional fixed sill blocks mounted to the floor, or to the top of a threshold to anchor the bottom of conventional mullions. A typical mullion is locked in place with a lock at the top of the mullion. When installed, this mullion is placed over the sill block at the sill and tilted into place and locked into a header block at the top of the mullion. However because the components of the conventional sill blocks project up into the mullion from the thresholds, they become a trip hazard and a liability when the mullion is temporarily removed.
INDEPENDENTLY OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE DOORS WITH AN ARTICULATING DOOR INTERFACE
A door system is provided for a motor vehicle. That door system includes (a) a first independently operable first, door, (b) an independently operable second door, (c) an articulating door interface carried on the first door and (d) a guide on the motor vehicle body. The guide displaces the articulating door interface between a door sealing position when the first door is closed and a door opening position when the first door is opened. A related method is also provided.
RECESSED FENESTRATION HINGE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR SAME
A fenestration hinge assembly includes a first leaf rotatably coupled with a second leaf. The first and second leaves each include one or more leaf knuckles. The first and second leaf knuckles are at least partially received within a hinge cavity of a recessed escutcheon, the recessed escutcheon configured for recessed installation within a panel or frame of a fenestration assembly. The fenestration hinge assembly includes a lateral adjustment plate movably coupled with a remainder of the second leaf. The lateral adjustment plate is configured to position at least a portion of the second leaf laterally relative to one of the frame or the panel. The fenestration hinge assembly includes an adjustable hinge configured for elevation adjustment. The adjustable hinge includes an elevation adjustment pin interconnecting the first and second leaf knuckles. The elevation adjustment pin is configured to position the second leaf vertically relative to the first leaf.
Saloon-type lavatory door
A saloon-type door assembly that includes left and right door assemblies that each include a frame adapter having a curved inner surface with a first apex, a front portion and a rear portion, a door adapter that includes a curved outer surface with a second apex a front portion and a rear portion, a door panel associated with the door adapter, at least one front hinge strip secured along a front hinge strip path, and at least one rear hinge strip that is secured along a rear hinge strip path. The front hinge strip path extends from the front portion of the curved outer surface of the door adapter to the rear portion of the curved inner surface of the frame adapter. The rear hinge strip path extends from the rear portion of the curved outer surface of the door adapter to the front portion of the curved inner surface of the frame adapter. The door panels are movable between a front open position, a closed position and a rear open position.
