The invention is a method, an apparatus and a kit of parts for assembling a universal frame with at least two jambs, a lintel and a sill. The resulting frame is suitable for any size of opening and any size of door, with the option to include single doors or double doors as well as side screens and/or side lights. The frame is typically assembled by cutting the jambs (and optionally the sill and/or lintel) to a selected size, attaching keys to each end of each jamb and inserting the keys into keying channels in the sill and lintel.

A window assembly includes a polymer (e.g., polyvinyl chloride, vinyl) window frame made and a glass unit carried by the window frame. The window frame includes a pair of jambs and an astragal that extends between and interconnects the pair of jambs. The jambs have a channel or slot sized to receive therethrough one or more end walls of the astragal so that at least a portion of said one or more end walls extend into a hollow cavity in the jambs that is in fluid communication with one or more weep holes of the window assembly. The one or more end walls of the astragal and channel or slot of the jambs define a flow path configured to channel water from the astragal, through the channel or slot in the jambs and into the hollow cavity such that said water exits the hollow cavity and the window assembly via the one or more weep holes.

SILL CORNER BRACKETS FOR COASTAL IMPACT RESISTANT FENESTRATIONS

Embodiments herein relate to fenestrations exhibiting coastal impact performance. In an embodiment, a fenestration unit includes a frame assembly forming a first lower corner and a second lower corner. A first sill corner bracket can fit on a top of a sill and extend from the first lower corner partway along the top of the sill and partway along one side jamb of the frame assembly. A second sill corner bracket can be configured to fit on the top of the sill and extend from the second lower corner partway along the top of the sill and partway along the other side jamb. A bottom sash can include a bottom rail defining a channel to receive at least a portion of the first corner bracket and the second corner bracket therein when the bottom sash is in the closed position. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Key for sliding panel

A corner key assembly for a sliding panel system including a panel frame and a movable panel can include a corner key including a distal and proximal end, and a guide chamber being defined in the corner key, the guide chamber extending from the distal end towards the proximal end of the corner key; a guide slidingly movable relative to the corner key, at least a portion of the guide being configured to be positioned in the guide chamber and a portion of the guide being configured to extend from the guide chamber; and a biasing element positioned in the guide chamber between the guide and the proximal end, the biasing element configured to urge a portion of the guide from the guide chamber away from the corner key and into frictional engagement with the panel frame to hold the panel in a desired position relative to the panel frame.

TWO-PIECE DOOR AND INSTALLATION SYSTEM

A two-piece door kit comprises frame members comprising two or more components that can be connected with one or more connectors, a bottom panel that can be movably attached to the frame members, a top panel that can be movably attached to the frame members. Prior to assembly, the two-piece door kit may be packaged compactly in a carton in which the total of the carton length plus twice the carton width plus twice the carton thickness is less than or equal to 165 inches.
