Joint for a fenestration unit

A mitre joint for a metallic frame of a fenestration unit includes first and second frame members; a connector configured to locate the first and second frame members in relation to one another; and first and second fasteners configured to secure the first and second frame members to the connector. The connector has a first arm configured to extend within a hollow profile defined by the first frame member, and a second arm configured to extend within a hollow profile defined by the second frame member. A longitudinal axis of each of the first and second fasteners is configured to be parallel to a longitudinal axis of the respective connector arm. Each of the first and second fasteners is configured to engage the respective frame member when the respective connector arm extends within said frame member.

Frame forming structure for use with frame and sash of aluminium-wood combined door/window

Provided is a frame forming structure for use with a frame and a sash of an aluminium-wood combined door/window. The door/window may include at least a door/window frame or a door/window sash frame. The door/window frame or the door/window sash frame is formed by two connecting adjacent profile frame strips by means of an angle forming device and a round tenon rod on adjacent connecting end surfaces. Symmetric U-shaped notches for positioning the angle forming device and symmetric round tenon rod holes are processed on the connecting end surfaces of the two adjacent profile frame strips. A round tenon is used for positioning and inserted into the symmetric round tenon rod holes. A assembly-type the angle forming device is fixed the two adjacent profile frame strips. The disclosure has characteristics of increasing connecting strength of an angle portion and sealing performance after angle formation, improving convenience of frame formation.

The corner sets fit into openings at corners between adjacent frame sections. The frame assembly includes corner braces that snap lock over a corner between adjacent frame sections. The corner braces fit over exterior surfaces of the frame sections forming the frame assembly. The corner brace snaps into grooves in the exterior surfaces of the frame sections. The frame assembly includes a corner member that engages to an outer flange of joining frame sections. The corner member spans the corner between the joining frame sections.

The indentation and efficient angular connection of the hollow profile members is enhanced through: a) forming of the sharp edges of the sheet metal to align an aberrant edge thereof in an indentation appropriate direction, b) appropriately orienting the sheet metal portion (1, 1) to comply with a set of predetermined geometrical parameters and c) selectively employing varying embodiments of the slide base portion to obtain rapprochement of the points of indentation of the walls being indented.

Secure corner assembly for high-strength windows

Windows and secure corner assemblies are generally described. The windows may include a sash having stiles arranged on vertical sides thereof and rails arranged on horizontal sides thereof. Primary reinforcement members may be arranged within the stiles. Secure corner assemblies may be configured to be arranged within corners of the sash formed by intersections of the stiles and the rails. The secure corner assemblies may include at least one secondary reinforcement member arranged on an external surface of one of the rails, such as a top rail. A tilt mechanism may be configured to be coupled to a primary reinforcement member and the at least one secondary reinforcement member, thereby providing a continuous reinforcement connection around the window sash. Vinyl windows using corner assemblies according to some embodiments may have increased pressure ratings compared to vinyl windows that do not include such corner assemblies.
