Multifunction securing mechanism for door
A multifunction securing mechanism for a compartment closable by a door and includes a key cylinder, a latching assembly which may be a two-point latching assembly movable between a latching and an unlatching position, a rotatable member configured for a lazy-cam function connecting the key cylinder and latching assembly, at least one catch located on a surface adjacent the outside of the door, and a bar pivotally mounted to the outside of the door and movable between a first closed position and a second opened position. A first release mechanism is located on an interior side of the door for changing a positon of the latching assembly, and a second release mechanism is located on the interior side of the door for changing a position of the bar, both for allowing a user to open a latched and secured door from the inside.
Base slat pry stopper
A base slat pry stopper, such as a base slat locking bracket, for locking a rolling shutter curtain covering an opening of a structure is disclosed. The base slat pry stopper may include a bracket base plate mounted to an opening bottom wall on an interior side of the shutter curtain, and a base slat engagement portion extending upward from the bracket base plate and above a top surface of the opening bottom wall. When the shutter curtain is unrolled to cover the opening, the base slat engagement portion engages the base slat to prevent the base slat from deflecting upward away from the opening bottom wall when a force applied from an exterior side of the shutter curtain causes the base slat to deflect toward the interior side of the structure and the shutter curtain. The base slat pry stopper may be permanently or removably installed.
ROLLING SHUTTER LOCKING SYSTEM
A locking system for a rolling shutter that includes a plurality of rolling shutter slats, comprises a guide track with a U-shaped guide channel having a channel base, and first and second channel walls. A lock bar is coupled to the rolling shutter slats. In a locked position, the lock bar extends transverse to the channel base. The lock bar has a notch covered by a breakaway wall that is aligned with the channel base in the locked position. The lock bar may be slidably received in a sleeve that is positioned in the guide channel to increase resistance to torsional forces on the locking system. In an alternative embodiment, the locking system comprises a unitary extruded body, a lock bar, and a handle. A longitudinal channel is formed integrally in the body for receiving the lock bar and handle. The lock bar is slidable in the channel between an extended locked position and a retracted unlocked position. The handle is positioned in the channel to stop the retraction of the lock bar at the unlocked position.
ROLLING SHUTTER MODULAR UTILITY SLAT
A utility slat for a rolling shutter comprises a single-walled slat body with a U-shaped channel formed in the slat body that defines an interior space for receiving additional features, such as a rolling shutter locking device. A cover is removably coupled to the slat body to enclose the interior space.
ROLLING SHUTTER SYSTEM
A rolling shutter comprises first and second slats, each slat having inner and outer sides, a first edge with an engaging track, and a second edge with a receiving track. The receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member that are spaced apart to form an aperture that is sized and shaped to receive the engaging track of another slat. The engaging track of the first slat is received in the receiving track of the second slat to form an articulating hinge. The hinge has a vertical position with the maximum extension of the first and second slats, and the hinge is rotatable from the vertical position in a backward direction. In one embodiment, the engaging track is hook-shaped and comprises a bend that curves toward the inner side, and a rib positioned at the first edge that projects from the inner side. The hinge is rotatable from the vertical position in the forward direction, and the rib of the first slat contacts the lip member of the second slat to stop the forward rotation of the hinge.
Fire rated door
A closure may include a door configured to seal an opening. The door may include a section with an internal cavity. The closure may also include a core within a first portion of the internal cavity of the section. The core may be configured to expand from a relaxed state to an expanded state and provide a seal between the door and an edge of the opening when the core is in the expanded state.
Self-adjusting bottom bar for a retractable screen
A self-adjusting retractable screen system including a sheet of flexible screen material and a bottom bar assembly extending horizontally along a bottom edge of the sheet of flexible screen material from a first end to a second end. The bottom bar assembly includes a termination bar secured to the bottom edge of the sheet of flexible screen material and an adjustable arm received on the termination bar. The adjustable arm can be rotated between a level position and a rotated position.
Bottom assembly for a breakaway door
The present invention is a bottom assembly for a breakaway door. The bottom assembly comprises a first mounting plate fixed on one of the faces of the breakaway door proximate to its bottom and a security edge formed of a loop of flexible material suspended from the bottom of the breakaway door. The security edge has a second tab sandwiched between the first mounting plate and the breakaway door to mount the security edge to the breakaway door. The loop of flexible material has an interior void at least partially filled with an internal cushion. The bottom assembly further includes a first padded bar including a bumper and a first tab extending from the bumper wherein the first tab is sandwiched between the first mounting plate and the breakaway door to mount the first padded bar to said breakaway door.
HIGH PERFORMANCE DOOR
With a high performance door, preferably high speed door, for closing an opening (11), preferably in a wall (12) comprising a flexible curtain (13) to be wound and unwound on a shaft to open and close the opening (11) with a rigid bottom beam (15) attached on the lower end of said curtain (13) the risk from the bottom beam to the environment upon opening is reduced in, that the rigid bottom beam (15) comprising at least one flush side (20) at least almost flushing the curtain (13).
Hem bar for use with an architectural-structure covering
A hem bar for use with an architectural-structure covering such as, for example, a rollable screen (e.g., an outdoor insect screen, a solar screen, a hurricane screen, a privacy and security screen, etc.). The hem bar includes a weather strip for contacting or resting on a contacting surface when the covering is in a fully extended position. The weather strip is vertically, movably positioned relative to the hem bar. Additionally, the weather strip may be downwardly biased relative to the hem bar. The hem bar may also include a plurality of weight-receiving chambers for receiving, for example, a weighted rod, a weighted bar, or the like to assist in maintaining the covering in a taut condition (e.g., assists with maintaining constant tension on the covering) in the extended position. The hem bar may have a symmetrical design to eliminate any tilting or rocking motion.
