FLEXIBLE CONNECTOR FOR JOINING A COILED TUBING AND A BOTTOM HOLE ASSEMBLY
20220389772 · 2022-12-08 ·

A flexible connector for connecting coiled tubing to a bottom hole assembly is disclosed. The flexible connector has multiple internal diameters that reduces breakage due bending down hole and reduces turbulence of fluid flowing through the coiled tubing, flexible connector, and bottom hole assembly. The flexible connector also reduces the chances of a bottom hole assembly attached by the flexible connector to a coiled tubing being stuck down hole.

A tubing string, such as a coiled tubing or jointed tubing string, has an agitator mounted within an interior of the tubing string at an intermediate position between an uphole end and a downhole end of the tubing string. A tubing agitator is structured to be installed within a tubing string. A method includes: forming or installing a seat within an interior of a tubing string at an intermediate position between an uphole end and a downhole end of the tubing string; and conveying an agitator through the interior of the tubing string until the agitator contacts the seat. A hammer drift tool is also described.

SPOOLABLE DEVICE, METHOD FOR MAKING A SPOOLABLE DEVICE, AND SYSTEM

A spoolable device including a first communication interface, a second communication interface, a power management module, a functional electrical module, and a junction joining each of the above elements together and creating a shared pressure chamber. A method for making a spoolable device comprising welding a functional electrical module to a first portion of a junction box, welding a first communication interface to the first portion of a junction box, welding a power management module to a second portion of a junction box, welding a second communication interface to the second portion of a junction box, and welding the first portion of a junction box to the second portion of the junction box to form a pressure chamber inside the first and second portions of the junction box.

Apparatus for connecting a tool string to coiled tubing in downhole operations

A connection between a downhole tool string and axially extending coiled tubing 102 includes a compression ring 120 that in use grips the coiled tubing sufficiently to enable a slip ring to be set and provides a satisfactory seal with the coiled tubing 102. The compression ring 120 is preferably of a relatively malleable metal and includes a skirt 142 of reduced thickness to be preferentially compressible and which in use is compressed against the coiled tubing 102.
