Single run preloaded casing hanger and annulus seal assembly and methods of use thereof

A running tool having an annulus seal assembly and casing hanger attached thereto may be sent into to the wellhead to lock and preload the casing hanger in a single trip. The running tool may be rotated a first time to drop the annulus seal assembly on the casing hanger, a first pressure may be applied axially above the annulus seal assembly to set the annulus seal assembly, the running tool may be rotated a second time to close a gap between the annulus seal assembly and the wellhead, and a second pressure may be applied axially above the annulus seal assembly to preload the casing hanger.

Double grip retention for wellbore installations

A wellhead assembly with a gripping device for securing multiple components of the wellhead assembly is provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a wellhead housing mounted above a hollow body, such that an axial bore extends through the wellhead housing and the hollow body, and a wellhead hanger positioned within the axial bore. The system also includes a clamp that provides a first grip that secures the wellhead housing to the hollow body and a second grip that secures the wellhead hanger within the axial bore. The second grip includes elastic deformation, via the clamp, of at least one of the wellhead housing or the hollow body into tight engagement with an exterior of the wellhead hanger to secure the wellhead hanger at the location within the axial bore. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

A packoff for a wellhead includes a body configured to be positioned in an annulus between the wellhead and an inner tubular above a casing hanger supported in the wellhead, the body including a bore and a lower end, the bore and the lower end being configured to be positioned at least partially around the inner tubular. The lower end is configured to be spaced apart from the casing hanger. The packoff also includes a first load shoulder member configured to be removably connected to the lower end of the body and to engage a surface of the casing hanger so as to form a seal therewith.

WELLHEAD ATTACHMENT SYSTEM

A casing system, includes a landing ring and a slip hanger. The landing ring defines an opening extending between a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is configured to couple to a conductor pipe. The landing ring includes a landing ring shoulder extending radially inward from an inner surface of the opening. The slip hanger is configured to engage with casing The slip hanger includes at least one slip segment configured to engage with an outer diameter of the casing and an outer slip ring. The outer slip ring is disposed around and coupled to the at least one slip segment. The outer slip ring is configured to engage with the landing ring shoulder.

LINER HANGER SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH NON-PRESSURE SENSITIVE ACTUATION

A technique facilitates reducing or eliminating the risk of premature actuation of a liner hanger system and/or premature release of a miming tool. According to an embodiment, the technique utilizes a running string for deploying a liner hanger assembly having a liner hanger which may be actuated at a desired location to suspend a liner/casing from a surrounding casing string. An anti-preset module may be used in cooperation with the liner hanger to prevent premature actuation of the liner hanger. By way of example, the anti-preset module may use pressure equalization between a region within the miming string and a region between the miming string and the liner hanger to prevent pressure imbalances which could actuate the liner hanger. Additionally, a locking mechanism, e.g. releasable lock dogs, may be used to temporarily lock the liner hanger against premature actuation.

Removing a tubular from a wellbore

Techniques for removing a tubular from a wellbore include running a downhole tool on a downhole conveyance into a wellbore formed from a terranean surface into a subterranean formation; activating a piston sub-assembly to repeatedly move pistons to contact a portion of a casing installed in the wellbore to at least de-bond a cement layer installed between the portion of the casing and the subterranean formation from the portion of the casing; activating a cutting sub-assembly to move a cutting blade to cut through the portion of the casing adjacent the de-bonded portion of the cement layer; activating a hanger sub-assembly to move a set of slips into contacting engagement with the cut portion of the casing; and running the downhole tool on the downhole conveyance out of the wellbore with the cut portion of the casing engaged with the set of slips.

TUBING HEAD SPOOL WITH ADAPTER BUSHING

Apparatus and methods provide for a tubing head spool that may be disposed in a wellhead during drilling or other wellbore operations, after which a tubing hanger adapter may be disposed within the tubing head spool for hanging tubing. Methods include installing a tubing head spool onto a wellhead, installing a blow out preventer onto the tubing head spool, drilling a well by running downhole tools and at least one casing string through the tubing head spool, running a tubing hanger adapter bushing through the blow out preventer and into the tubing head spool, running a tubing string into the well, and landing out the tubing string using a tubing hanger configured to hang within the tubing hanger adapter bushing.

Expandable liner hanger with post-setting fluid flow path

A wellbore completion system includes an expandable liner hanger with a post-setting fluid flow path. The system includes an expandable liner hanger that can be expanded by a running tool prior to a completion operation in a wellbore. The system also includes a circulating sleeve that can be manipulated by the running tool. The circulating sleeve can provide a return path for fluid internal to the expandable liner hanger for the completion operation that is performed subsequent to releasing the running tool from the expandable liner hanger.
