COILED TUBING SPIRAL VENTURI TOOL
A tool and method based on proven technologies, to remove sand and other types of solid particulate materials and fluids from wellbores and conduits, resulting from well-drilling, well-production or both, and consequently to reactivate well production. As time passes, solid aggregates are consolidated, plugging the wellbore, so they can be removed following two stages: disintegration in small particles and its further transport to surface. The tool, modular, composed of different subsystems, is connected to the end of concentric coil tubing, operates promoting the aggregates disintegration by using a spiral jet to impact these solids and suctioning the small particles and well fluids, simultaneously or later, by using jet pumps based on a set of several venturis. Changes between different operation modes are imposed by modifying surface pump pressure levels and the tool does not need to be removed from the wellbore between different stages, reducing the overall operation time.
BEHIND CASING WASH AND CEMENT
The invention relates to a method of conducting a perf wash cement (“P/W/C”) abandonment job in an offshore oil or gas well annulus (2), in particular the washing or cementing operation using a rotating head (6, 8) with nozzles (7, 9) dispensing wash fluid or cement at pressure. Certain values of parameters of a washing or cementing job have been found surprisingly to affect the quality of the job, or the degree to which they affect the quality of the job has been unexpected. These include including rotation rate of the tool, the direction of translational movement of the tool, and the volume flow rate and pressure per nozzle of cement or wash fluid (and hence nozzle size).
THERMITE METHOD OF ABANDONING A WELL
A well cutting tool, comprising a housing including a chamber, the housing having at least one nozzle, the chamber being loaded with thermite, and a gas-generating additive an ignitor such that when the ignitor is actuated to ignite the thermite, the gas-generating additive is caused to create an increase in pressure which discharges energised molten thermite from the chamber and out of the housing through the at least one nozzle.
Additive manufacture of wellbore lining
Provided are systems and methods for forming a casing liner in a wellbore of a hydrocarbon well. The forming including disposing a casing liner print head in an annular region located between a casing pipe disposed in a wellbore of a hydrocarbon well and a wall of the wellbore, conducting a downhole lining operation including operating the casing liner print head to eject casing liner integrated structure material into the annular region to form, in the annular region, a casing liner integrated structure including contiguous voids formed in the casing liner integrated structure material, and depositing a cementitious material into the contiguous voids formed in the casing liner material to form, in the annular region, a casing liner including the casing liner integrated structure material and the cementitious material.
Method and downhole apparatus to accelerate wormhole initiation and propagation during matrix acidizing of a subterranean rock formation
The present disclosure relates to downhole tools and related methods that accelerate wormhole initiation and propagation during matrix acidizing of a hydrocarbon-bearing subterranean rock formation.
Flow control nozzle and system
A flow control system includes a nozzle for controlling the flow of fluids into production tubing from a hydrocarbon containing reservoir. The nozzle comprises a passage extending between an inlet and an outlet, wherein the passage comprises converging and diverging sections separated by a corner. The nozzle serves to effectively choke the flow of steam and thereby allows preferential production of hydrocarbons.
Nozzle for steam injection and steam choking
A nozzle for controlling the flow of fluids into and/or out of a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir comprises a fluid passage extending between first and second openings. The passage comprises a flow adjusting region for increasing the velocity of fluids injected into the reservoir and for choking steam produced from the reservoir.
Production nozzle for solvent-assisted recovery
A nozzle for mitigating against solvent flashing in a solvent-assisted hydrocarbon extraction process comprises a fluid passage extending between an inlet and an outlet, wherein the fluid passage comprises a converging region, a throat, and a diverging region, and wherein at least the converging region is provided with a gradually reducing internal diameter. Preferably, the angle of convergence of the converging region is equal to or less than about 5 degrees.
Nozzle for steam injection
A steam injection nozzle for controlling the flowrate of steam injected into a hydrocarbon containing reservoir comprises a passage extending between an inlet and an outlet, wherein the passage comprises a first, pressure dissipating section and a second, pressure recovery section.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LASER DOWNHOLE EXTENDED SENSING
Some implementations of the present disclosure provide a laser drilling tool assembly comprising: (i) a body that includes: a first segment configured to receive an input beam from a laser source and couple the input beam to provide an irradiation beam to irradiate a downhole target, and a second segment housing one or more purging pipes; and (ii) a tool head that includes: a retractable nozzle; and one or more optical sensing elements mounted on the retractable nozzle, wherein when the downhole target is being irradiated by the irradiation beam, the retractable nozzle is extended towards the downhole target such that the one or more optical sensing elements are positioned closer to the downhole target.
