Wellbore system having an annulus safety valve
11702913 · 2023-07-18 · ·

An annulus safety valve assembly for controlling gas flow in a wellbore annulus that includes a passage, a check valve in the passage, and an actuator that is selectively changed between first and second states. The actuator is bi-stable, and requires no energy to remain in either state. When the actuator is put into one of the states, the check valve configuration is changed from one way flow to two way flow. Reconfiguring the check valve into the two way flow configuration vents lift gas from inside the annulus that is below the check valve.

Method and apparatus for producing well with backup gas lift and an electrical submersible well pump

A well production method uses side gas lift valves above a packer and an ESP below the packer. In a gas lift mode, a controller turns the ESP motor off, and shifts a tubing valve below the packer to a gas lift position while flowing gas down the casing. While in the gas lift mode, a pressure gauge monitors motor lubricant pressure, which correlates with a flowing bottom hole pressure of the well fluid in the lower casing annulus. In an ESP mode, the controller stops the flow of gas from the gas source, shifts the tubing valve to an ESP position and turns on the motor, causing well fluid to flow through the pump intake. The pressure gauge continues to monitor the lubricant pressure during the ESP mode.

Electro-magnetic pump jack

An electro-magnet pump jack including a base, a plurality of electro-magnetic coils, a cylinder, and a pump tube. The plurality of electro-magnetic coils is circular and stacked on top of one another. The coils are attached to a power source. The coils are configured to be turned on gradually moving up and down the stack creating a magnetic charge. The cylinder acts like a piston where the electro-magnets force the cylinder up and down. The cylinder has a guide tube that is secured through the middle of the pump jack. The cylinder is attached to a pump tube. The pump tube runs into the ground and controls the pump in the oil field.

Hydrocarbon wells including electrically actuated gas lift valve assemblies and methods of providing gas lift in a hydrocarbon well

Hydrocarbon wells including electrically actuated gas lift valve assemblies and methods of providing gas lift in a hydrocarbon well. The hydrocarbon wells include a wellbore that extends within a subterranean formation and downhole tubing that extends within the wellbore. The hydrocarbon wells also include a lift gas supply system configured to provide a lift gas stream to a lift gas supply conduit of the wellbore, a plurality of electrically actuated gas lift valve assemblies, a valve power supply system, and a controller. The methods include measuring a respective pressure differential between a lift gas supply conduit and a production conduit of the hydrocarbon well at each electrically actuated gas lift valve assembly in a plurality of electrically actuated gas lift valve assemblies of the hydrocarbon well. The methods also include selectively opening a selected electrically actuated gas lift valve assembly based on the respective pressure differential.

ELECTRICAL GAS LIFT VALVES AND ASSEMBLIES

Electrical gas lift valves and systems including electrical gas lift valves are provided.

SINGLE ACTUATED ROTATIONAL ELECTRIC GAS LIFT VALVE

An electric gas lift valve may comprise a casing, gas lift mandrel, one or more annulus, a tubing, a venturi sleeve, a needle, a governor, anti-rotational key, a rotational (rotating) bellow, a gearbox housing that houses a gearbox, an electrical motor, and an encoder. The bellow therefore allows the electrical motor, encoder and gearbox to be hermetically sealed against the external environment. Bellows that absorb torsion are provided. A bellow configured to absorb torsion comprising: a plurality of convolutions bent following a circular trajectory such that a start edge of a first convolution of the plurality of convolutions coincides with a finish edge of a last convolution of the plurality of convolutions, the start edge of the first convolution coupled to the finish edge of the last convolution.
