Adjustable Drilling Rig
An adjustable drilling rig is provided for drilling and installation of foundational micropile matrices in difficult to access locations. A platform and separately adjustable legs are provided to level the platform. Arms and a crossbar mount to the legs, and each includes a bushing slidably mounted and moveable there along. A mast is slidably attached to the crossbar bushing through a mounting plate. The mast carries a drill head to which a drill will be attached. Various adjusters are mounted to bushings, mounting plate and other components of the adjustable drilling rig and are independently and selectively activated to adjust the drill head translationally along the X-, Y- and Z-axes and rotationally about the X- and Y-axes to achieve five degrees of freedom in five planes. The entire adjustable drilling rig is provided in two frames for easy transport to remote work sites and may be assembled without complex tools.
Anti-jam control system for mobile drilling machines
An anti-jam control system for mobile drilling machines is disclosed. The anti-jam control system may include a method for automatically clearing a jam during an automatic drilling mode of a mobile drilling machine including a drill bit mounted on a drill string. The method may include: monitoring a feed rate of the drill bit during the automatic drilling mode; and automatically initiating an anti-jam operation when the feed rate is below a predetermined feed rate threshold.
Slide out pump stand for hydraulic fracturing equipment
A hydraulic fracturing system has a pump driven by an electrically powered motor. The pump pressurizes fluid which is piped into a wellbore to fracture a subterranean formation. The pump and motor are mounted on a trailer that is hitched to a tractor. A platform assembly is mounted onto the trailer, and which is selectively moveable between deployed and stowed configurations. The platform assembly includes a platform, a lateral rail assembly mounted to the platform, and gates on the forward and aft ends of the platform. The rail assembly and gates define a safety barrier to prevent operations personnel from falling off the platform. In the stowed configuration the platform assembly is anchored in place over wheels on the trailer. In the deployed configuration, the platform assembly provides work surface so that operations personnel can readily access the pump on the trailer.
MOBILE WELL SERVICING UNITS AND RELATED METHODS
A mobile well service unit has: a structural frame such as a chassis with ground engaging members; and a telescoping platform assembly mounted at a rear end of the structural frame, the telescoping platform assembly having a lower platform mounted to slide up and down relative to the structural frame, and an upper platform mounted to the lower platform to slide up and down relative to the lower platform. A mobile well service unit has: a structural frame with ground engaging members; a platform mounted at a rear end of the structural frame to slide up and down relative to the structural frame; and a set of telescoping and self-levelling stairs with an upper end pivotally anchored to the platform, and a lower end pivotally anchored to the structural frame.
ROBOTIC PIPE HANDLER SYSTEMS
An equipment handling system that can include a bridge disposed above a horizontal storage area and coupled to a guide rail, an equipment basket, a crane configured to transport the equipment basket to an elevated location, and a pipe handler coupled to the bridge and configured to move along the bridge. A catwalk system can include a guide rail, a portion of a bridge disposed over a horizontal storage area and coupled to the guide rail, with the bridge configured to move with the rig floor when the rig floor moves relative to the horizontal storage area, and a pipe handler coupled to the bridge and configured to move along the bridge.
MACHINE FOR MAKING FOUNDATIONS EQUIPPED WITH SENSORS TO PROTECT PERSON FROM DANGEROUS AREAS OF THE MACHINE
A foundation construction machine includes a self-moving/mobile assembly moving the construction machine. An upper structure mechanically connected to the self-moving/mobile assembly has an access point allowing access to the upper structure, and equipped with a walkway surface for standing or walking. A mast/boom mechanically connects to the upper structure, whereon an operating equipment mounts for drilling the ground. A presence sensor integrally mounts to the upper structure to monitor a monitoring region integral with the upper structure and covering the walkway surface. The presence sensor detects presence of a solid body in the monitoring region and sends a detection signal representative of the presence. A control system connected to the presence sensor is configured for receiving the detection signal and for sending a control signal to cause the construction machine to execute a predetermined function(s) when the detection signal indicates presence of a solid body proximate the walkway surface.
HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING SYSTEM WITH OPERATOR LIFT
A horizontal directional drilling machine includes a frame providing a base, a rack movable to different drilling angles with respect to the base, and a carriage having a rotating assembly for engaging a drill rod, the carriage being movable along the rack to drive the drill rod into the ground. The horizontal directional drilling machine further includes an operator lift including an operator area provided alongside the rack and being adjustable for height with respect to the rack to provide access to the carriage for wireline operations. The operator lift is supported by at least one frame element of the frame.
Automatic drill pipe coupling detection control system
A system for automatic detection of drill pipe coupling on a drilling machine is disclosed. The system may include a rotary head, a drill pipe, a display, and a controller. The controller may be configured to: automatically identify a coupling or decoupling condition of the drill pipe; monitor motion and forces associated with the rotary head during a coupling or decoupling action of the drill pipe; automatically identify a fully coupled or fully decoupled condition of the coupling or decoupling action based on the monitored motion and forces of the rotary head; terminate the coupling action based on the identification of the fully coupled or fully decoupled condition; and update the display to indicate the fully coupled or fully decoupled condition of the drill pipe.
