Phasing mechanism with roller ramps
A phasing mechanism for an internal combustion is provided. The phasing mechanism includes a stator, a rotor configured to rotate relative to the stator, a first plurality of rolling elements configured to engage and move the rotor in a first rotational direction, a second plurality of rolling elements configured to engage and move the rotor in a second rotational direction, and a piston configured to be hydraulically actuated in: i) a first axial direction to move the rotor in the first rotational direction, and ii) a second axial direction to move the rotor in the second rotational direction.
Engine
Embodiments are directed toward an engine. In some embodiments, the engine includes a water pump and a balancer shaft. In some embodiments, the water pump has a plain bearing. In some embodiments, plain bearing is supplied with pressurized oil. In some embodiments, the balancer shaft drives the water pump as well as cam shafts.
Compression release mechanism and internal combustion engine including the same
A compression release mechanism including a camshaft, a cam provided on the camshaft and protruding outward in a radial direction of the camshaft, a lever, of which a portion is disposed in the camshaft, a support shaft supporting the lever such that the lever is swingable between a first position and a second position relative to the camshaft, and a spring attached to the camshaft, to urge the lever toward the first position. The lever includes a cam portion configured to protrude out from the camshaft with the lever at the first position, a centrifugal weight for moving the lever toward the second position in accordance with rotation of the camshaft, and an abutment portion configured to be in abutment with an inner peripheral surface of the camshaft with the lever at the first position, and be located away from the inner peripheral surface with the lever at the second position.
Tensioner
To provide a tensioner capable of preventing slipping between a rack portion and ratchet pawls and securing a large backlash with a simple structure. The tensioner includes a ratchet rotatably mounted on a housing and having a front pawl and a rear pawl spaced apart in a front and rear direction on a side face positioned opposite the rack portion. The ratchet includes an additional pawl formed between the front pawl and the rear pawl in the front and rear direction on the side face positioned opposite the rack portion.
VARIABLE CAM TIMING PHASER AND SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
A variable cam timing phaser of a variable cam timing system includes a housing and a rotor moveable with respect to the housing. The rotor and the housing define advance and retard chambers. The variable cam timing phaser also includes a control valve assembly. The control valve assembly includes a valve housing defining a valve housing interior, a supply port, first and second working ports, and an exhaust port. The control valve assembly also includes a piston moveable for controlling flow of the hydraulic fluid through the valve housing interior. The exhaust port is fluidly connectable with a sump through a vent path that is defined by at least one of the valve housing and the rotor. The vent path is configured to prevent air from being sucked into the variable cam timing phaser through the vent path.
CAMSHAFT WITH PHASING DEVICE FOR MULTICYLINDER INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH POPPET VALVES
A camshaft for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine with poppet valves, comprising a main body, which is rotatable with respect to a first rotation axis, a first disk and means of the hydraulic type for varying the timing of said first disk with respect to said main body.
Radial Engine-Generator With Overhead Camshaft
A radial engine-generator includes an electric power generator and a radial engine. The radial engine-generator can be a mobile and portable unit, and is employable as a primary or back-up source of electric power at data centers, manufacturing facilities, electric vehicle charging stations, medical facilities, telecommunications, and residential neighborhoods, among many other applications. The electric power generator and radial engine are coupled together. The radial engine includes, among other components, multiple cylinders, multiple cylinder heads, and multiple overhead camshaft assemblies. The overhead camshaft assemblies are located at the cylinder heads and each include one or more camshafts. The camshaft(s) receive rotational drive input from a crankshaft of the radial engine. In certain implementations, camshaft carrier assemblies can be provided to support components of the overhead camshaft assemblies.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH CAMSHAFT VALVE PHASE VARIATION DEVICE
A combustion engine for a vehicle includes a device for changing the timing of suction/relief valves with respect to the drive shaft. The device includes a first disc idly mounted to the camshaft and has a first side defining first slot tracks. A second disc is integral with the camshaft and includes second slot tracks facing the first side of the first disc. Drive elements transmit motion between the first disc and the second disc and each is accommodated between corresponding two of the partially facing tracks. As centrifugal forces caused by the rotation speed of the camshaft changes, each drive elements moves between a first reference position and a second reference position which are close to and far from the rotation axis of the camshaft, respectively. A phase changer device exerts a force which tends to oppose movement of said drive elements towards the second reference position.
Hydraulic oil control valve and valve timing adjustment device
A hydraulic oil control valve is coaxially disposed with a rotational axis of a valve timing adjustment device. The hydraulic oil control valve includes a sleeve and a spool that is slidably moved in an axial direction within the sleeve in a radial direction. The sleeve includes an inner sleeve disposed radially outside of the spool and an outer sleeve defining an axial hole extending in the axial direction. The inner sleeve is inserted into the axial hole. The outer sleeve is fixed to an end portion of one shaft when an axial force is applied to the outer sleeve in the axial direction. An inner sleeve end portion of the inner sleeve in the axial direction away from the actuator protrudes from the outer sleeve away from the actuator in the axial direction.
Internal combustion engine
In an internal combustion engine that includes a cylinder block and a cylinder head, and has a cam chain chamber on a side of the cylinder block, a beam member that traverses the cam chain chamber is disposed in the cam chain chamber.
