The check valve is installed in the crankshaft chamber. The rotating rod control mechanism includes a rotating rod and a sealing block fixedly connected and rotating with the rotating rod. The sealing block blocks and seals a joint between the crankshaft chamber and each draft tube.
TWO-STEP VALVE CLOSING ROCKER ASSEMBLY
A valve actuation system includes a rocker for conveying motion to an engine valve, a motion source arranged to impart motion to the rocker, rocker stop assembly configured to operate in an activated mode, in which the rocker stop assembly maintains the rocker in a position corresponding to partial valve lift, and a deactivated mode, in which the rocker stop assembly allows the rocker to move to a position corresponding to a fully closed valve position, and a rocker stop reset assembly for resetting the rocker stop assembly to the deactivated mode subsequent to a main event peak lift to thereby achieve late valve closing. A damper assembly may interact with the rocker stop assembly to provide a smooth transition of the rocker and valve motion to a late intake valve closing dwell. A valve catch assembly may control the seating velocity of the at least one valve.
HYDRAULIC LASH ADJUSTER AND METHOD FOR USING HYDRAULIC LASH ADJUSTER
Air is restrained from flowing into a high pressure chamber while the number of parts is reduced. A plunger is slidably fitted into a body; a reservoir is formed in the plunger with a communication hole formed in a head section thereof to allow communication between an inside and an outside; a high pressure chamber is formed in the body between the body and the plunger bottom section; an oil supply hole is formed in a plunger circumferential wall section; a return spring is interposed between the body and the plunger; a valve mechanism is disposed on the plunger bottom section; the reservoir is set such that a space continuously extends; and the oil supply hole is oriented outward in the radial direction as compared to an axis of the plunger.
SELF-RESETTING SINGLE-VALVE DOUBLE-PISTON HYDRAULIC DRIVE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OVERHEAD CAM ENGINE
A self-resetting single-valve double-piston hydraulic drive device and method for an overhead cam engine is disclosed. A primary driving piston and a secondary driving piston are respectively provided on a rocker arm body and a valve bridge body. The secondary driving piston is connected to an exhaust valve. When the drive control valve opens, the primary driving piston and the secondary driving piston realize a hydraulic linkage, during a drive lift, the secondary driving piston opens the exhaust valve. At the beginning of the positive-power lift, the secondary driving piston is automatically reset. When the control valve is closed, during the drive lift of an integrated cam, the primary driving piston absorbs the drive lift of an integrated cam assembly, the rocker arm body and the bridge body do not move, and the drive lift of the integrated cam is not transmitted to the exhaust valve.
ROCKER ARM MECHANISM AND ENGINE ASSEMBLY
A rocker arm mechanism includes a rocker arm shaft, a rocker arm, a valve clearance adjuster, a valve train, and a control valve. The rocker arm is rotatably disposed on the rocker arm shaft. The valve train includes a valve bridge. The rocker arm is provided with a plunger chamber. The valve clearance adjuster includes a hydraulic tappet slidably disposed in the plunger chamber. The plunger chamber is supplied with oil through an oil supply passage. The control valve is configured to open or close the oil supply passage. When the control valve opens the oil supply passage, the hydraulic tappet can abut against the valve bridge and eliminate the clearance between the valve bridge and the hydraulic tappet.

Valve actuation system comprising in-series lost motion components deployed in a pre-rocker arm valve train component and valve bridge
A valve actuation system comprises a valve actuation motion source configured to provide a main valve actuation motion and an auxiliary valve actuation motion for actuating at least one engine valve via a valve actuation load path. A lost motion subtracting mechanism is arranged in a pre-rocker arm valve train component and configured, in a first default operating state, to convey at least the main valve actuation motion and configured, in a first activated state, to lose the main valve actuation motion and the auxiliary valve actuation motion. Additionally, a lost motion adding mechanism is arranged in a valve bridge and configured, in a second default operating state, to lose the auxiliary valve actuation motion and configured, in a second activated state, to convey the auxiliary valve actuation motion, wherein the lost motion adding mechanism is in series with the lost motion subtracting mechanism in the valve actuation load path.
