Liquid filter device

A liquid filter device may include a filter housing and a ring filter element arranged in the filter housing. The filter housing may include a filter housing cover and a filter housing pot connectable tightly therewith via a housing seal. A discharge channel, a central clean channel, and a vent channel may be disposed in the filter housing pot. The ring filter element may include an upper end plate, a lower end plate, and a pleated star. When the liquid filter device is in an operating state, a pin arranged on the lower end plate may be disposed in and seal the discharge channel via a first seal, a second seal arranged on the lower end plate may be disposed against a surface of the clean channel, and a third seal arranged on the upper end plate may be disposed against a surface of the vent channel.

An expandable engine fluid catcher that is configured to attach to an engine fluid filter, such as an oil filter, and catch engine fluid as the fluid filter is removed from the engine. An engine may be part of a vehicle and the engine fluid filter may be an oil filter. An expandable engine fluid catcher has a retainer portion having a retainer band that is secured around the engine fluid filter. Most engine fluid filters are cylindrical in shape and therefore a band, and in particular an elastic band, may be used to attach the expandable engine fluid catcher to the fluid filter. A pleated portion of the expandable engine fluid catcher has a plurality of pleats that extend from the retainer band upward to an expandable end that can be flared out, or expanded, to provide a larger diameter for catching engine fluid therein.

Filter Element for a Filter Device of an Internal Combustion Engine and a Filter Device for an Internal Combustion Engine

A filter element for a filter device of an internal combustion engine, in particular a motor vehicle, is disclosed. The filter element for filtering a fluid of the internal combustion engine can be inserted in the direction of an insertion axis along a lateral wall of a filter housing. The filter element has at least one sealing element for fluidically blocking at least one throughflow opening formed in the lateral wall.

Liquid Filtering Device

A filter arrangement for liquids has a filter housing and a functional carrier arranged inside the filter housing. A cylindrical filter element is inserted axially into the filter housing and defines an unfiltered side and a filtered side inside the filter housing. A non-return diaphragm is arranged on the filter element within the filter housing, wherein the non-return diaphragm is connected to the functional carrier and held at an axial spacing against a stop of filter housing so as to effect an axial and/or radial sealing action of the unfiltered side relative to the filtered side of the filter arrangement.

Engine block and engine having an engine block

An engine block with an oil path switching arrangement is proposed. The engine block includes an oil sump, an oil pump, a clean oil riser and a switching valve. The switching valve has in each case connections for the oil sump, the oil pump and the clean oil riser. The switching valve is switchable to open and close the connections, including a first position in which a connection between the clean oil riser and the oil sump is established, thereby avoiding discharge of oil in the clean oil riser through an oil filter receptacle during an oil change.

Filter device

A filter device may include a filter housing cover defining a chamber and an annular filter element arranged within the receiving chamber. The filter device may further include a housing and at least one intermediate piece arranged between the filter housing cover and the housing when the cover is secured to the housing. An inlet duct may be in communication with an untreated side of the filter element and an outlet duct may be in communication with a clean side of the filter element. A drainage duct may be arranged in the housing for draining the chamber during removal of the cover. A closure device may be arrange in the intermediate piece and have a closure element configured to close the drainage duct.

Internal combustion engine

A technique for making air less likely to enter a strainer in an internal combustion engine in which the strainer is supported by a drain bolt. In an internal combustion engine in which a drain bolt supports a strainer and is configured to discharge a drain is attached to a bottom of a sump. A drain hole into which the drain bolt is screwed and a strainer hole are arranged coaxially. A crankcase is provided with an oil passage through which oil is returned to the sump. The oil passage includes a first passage through which the oil flows in a direction away from the strainer, a return passage that turns around from a forefront end of the first passage, and a second passage through which the oil flows from a forefront end of the return passage toward the strainer.
