Fluid Pan and Motor Vehicle

A fluid pan for a motor vehicle has a main pan and a secondary pan that is separate from the main pan, wherein the main pan has a main space for fluid and a passage is provided on a side wall of the main pan. The secondary pan has a secondary space and an opening, wherein the secondary pan is attached to the side wall of the main pan in such a manner that the opening of the secondary pan connects to the passage of the main pan and thus the main space and the secondary space are fluidically connected.

Lubricant Pan and Internal Combustion Engine for a Vehicle
20220381167 · 2022-12-01 ·

A lubricant pan for a vehicle includes a receiving region in which a lubricant is at least temporarily receivable, a first wall element, and a second wall element. A temperature-control channel is disposed between the first wall element and the second wall element and a temperature-control medium is flowable through the temperature-control channel. A core that is porous and permeable to the temperature-control medium is disposed in the temperature-control channel between the first wall element and the second wall element. The temperature-control medium is introducible into the temperature-control channel via a first connector and the temperature-control medium is dischargable from the temperature-control channel via a second connector.

LUBRICATION FLUID STORAGE SYSTEM WITH VENTING
20220381168 · 2022-12-01 ·

A storage reservoir for an internal combustion engine is provided that includes a plurality of vents connected to an air compartment that outlets air from the storage reservoir. The storage reservoir can remain vented to supply of lubrication fluid even if the internal combustion engine is inclined due to operation along severe grades.

VEHICLE COOLING DEVICE
20230056691 · 2023-02-23 ·

A vehicle cooling device includes a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger. The first heat exchanger is a water-cooled intercooler that is configured to cool supercharged intake air. The second heat exchanger is a water-cooled EGR gas cooler that is configured to cool EGR gas. The first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger are arranged in series on a cooling water circuit such that cooling water flowing out of the first heat exchanger flows into the second heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger is arranged in a position relatively lower than a height position of the first heat exchanger when the cooling device has been installed in a vehicle. Due to this height difference, the cooling water in the second heat exchanger has high pressure, and boiling of the cooling water is suppressed.

Composite engine oil pan and method of making

A composite oil pan for a work vehicle engine and a method of forming the composite engine oil pan include forming a sheet of metal into a first pan and open molding a fiber-reinforced polymer resin onto the first pan forming a second pan. The first pan has a first bottom wall and first peripheral walls extending from edges of the first bottom wall to define a sump, the first peripheral walls terminating in a first peripheral flange. The second pan has a second bottom wall and second peripheral walls abutting the first bottom wall and the first peripheral walls, the second peripheral walls terminating in a second peripheral flange. The first pan defines a thin metal structure with an inner surface extending across the first bottom wall, first peripheral walls and first peripheral flange; the second pan reinforces the first pan without abutting the inner surface.

Motor-vehicle hybrid powertrain unit
09821647 · 2017-11-21 · ·

A motor-vehicle hybrid powertrain unit comprises an internal combustion engine for driving the rear wheels of the motor-vehicle and one or two electric motors for driving the front wheels of the motor-vehicle. The internal combustion engine has an engine block below which there is provided no oil sump. The one or two electric motors are arranged immediately below the block of the internal combustion engine in the space, which in a conventional engine, is occupied by the oil sump.

Engine device

An engine device in which an exhaust gas purification device can be disposed without substantially increasing mounting width dimensions (height, lateral width, front and rear width) of an engine. The engine device includes the exhaust gas purification device connected to an exhaust manifold of the engine, an oil pan disposed on a bottom of the engine, a support body for linking the exhaust gas purification device to the oil pan, so that the exhaust gas purification device is supported by the oil pan.

Lubricant Conducting Housing with a Separation Function and Recirculation
20170254238 · 2017-09-07 ·

A lubricant conducting member includes a lubricant conducting housing arranged between a crankcase and a lubricant collecting trough. The lubricant housing is surrounded by a bordering edge, and a projection of the bordering edge delimits an area in a plane parallel to a standing plane of the motor vehicle. A cumulative area of all of the lubricant passage openings is smaller than ⅓ of the area. In a perpendicular view, from the standing plane of the motor vehicle onto the lubricant conducting housing, in particular the view from below at least one lubricant passage opening, all lubricant passage openings are completely covered by the lubricant recirculation system.
