Drive train design for electric driven vehicles
11525504 · 2022-12-13 · ·

A powertrain arrangement for a transverse mounted motor for an electric powered automotive passenger vehicle including opposing wheel shafts for powering two parallel mounted wheels, the shafts rotating about a first axis, the shafts having at least one end torsionally connected with a differential, an electrical rotor torsionally connected with the wheel shafts via a planetary gear train, an electrical stator surrounding the rotor, a casing supporting the rotor and the wheel shafts, the casing encompassing the stator, the casing having a floor forming a lubricant reservoir, and a baffle located in the lubricant reservoir. The baffle forming a wall with a portal allowing flow through the formed wall, and wherein an increase of fluid pressure throttles flow through the formed wall.

Pump system

One embodiment of a modular pump includes a cover and a housing that may be engaged with one another during operation. A gearset may be positioned within an internal portion of the housing. If the modular pump is configured as a rotary pump, the gear set may be comprised of an inner gear positioned within a portion of a ring gear. The modular pump may include a spacer positioned between the cover and the housing to allow the modular pump to be configured with gear sets of varying axial dimensions.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXTENDING OIL LIFE IN AN ENGINE

A system is provided. The system includes a reciprocating engine configured to consume oil at or less than 0.25 g/kw-hr and to use makeup oil. The reciprocating engine includes an engine oil sump. The system is configured to maintain an oil volume in the reciprocating engine during operation so that a residence time of oil in the reciprocating engine is at or less than 1000 hours.

Intake Arrangement
20170370336 · 2017-12-28 ·

Intake arrangement for an internal combustion engine for the intake of a liquid medium from a container, having a strainer, via which liquid medium can be taken in from the container, and having at least one suction pipe which opens with a first end into the strainer and via which the liquid medium can be delivered towards a suction pump, which interacts with the respective suction pipe. The suction pipe is mounted at a second end that faces away from the strainer such that it can be pivoted about an axis such that the suction pipe follows a movement of the liquid within the container.

DEVICE FOR PASSING LUBRICANT OUT OF A LUBRICANT COLLECTING CONTAINER
20170368656 · 2017-12-28 ·

A device for passing lubricant out of a lubricant collecting container to a lubricant pump, in particular for an oil circuit of an internal combustion engine. The device including a lubricant intake pipe and a sedimentation container, which is connected fluidically to the lubricant intake pipe.

Two-stroke internal combustion engine with crankcase lubrication system
20170362972 · 2017-12-21 ·

A two-cycle internal combustion engine with rear compression chamber, other than that of a crank case. This present engine has valves that can be screwed on the engine block near top dead center, and is actuated by air pressure. This present two-cycle engine yet uses an oil sump similar to that of a four-cycle engine, which eliminating the need to premix oil with the fuel. This present engine has a stationary piston which operates within a movable piston to form a rear-compression chamber. The movable piston has ports near its crown to transfer charge to the combustion chamber. The movable piston also has ports near bottom of its skirt to allow the fuel and air mixture to enter the rear compression chamber. This engine has a piston seat which is adapted to connect the movable piston to the connecting rod.

Work vehicle engine with split-circuit lubrication system
11486277 · 2022-11-01 · ·

A lubrication system for an internal combustion engine of a work vehicle includes an engine oil sump and a pump unit fluidly connected to the engine oil sump to receive engine oil therefrom. The pump unit, in turn, includes a first oil pump comprising a variable displacement pump, a second oil pump, a drive line mechanically coupled to the first oil pump and the second oil pump that drives each of the pumps, and a manifold that directs engine oil from the engine oil sump to the first and second oil pumps. A first oil circuit is fluidly coupled to the first oil pump to direct a first flow of engine oil to piston spray jets in the engine and a second oil circuit is fluidly coupled to the second oil pump to direct a second flow of engine oil to one or more oiled engine components in the engine.

Oil strainer and oil storage device for vehicle

An oil strainer which sucks an oil is disposed within an oil pan connected to a lower portion of a combustion engine. The oil strainer includes a strainer main body, which accommodates a filter element and extends so as to be inclined relative to a horizontal line, a suction port formed in a lower portion of the strainer main body, and a discharge port formed in an upper portion of the strainer main body.

POWER UNIT FOR VEHICLE
20170276038 · 2017-09-28 ·

A power unit including an internal combustion engine has an electric power generator mounted on an end of a crankshaft, a power transmitting member mounted on the other end of the crankshaft, and a lubricant oil filter. The oil filter partly overlaps the electric power generator as viewed in the direction of a crankshaft axis, and is positioned between the electric power generator and a crank weight on the crankshaft with respect to the direction of the crankshaft axis. The oil filter has a filter mount axis forming an acute angle to the crankshaft axis. The engine crankcase is thus prevented from bulging outwardly, and the power unit is reduced in size in its entirety.
