Jet pump diffuser for a separator

A diffuser for a jet pump of a separator comprises an inlet defining a first flow area; an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet through which fluid exits the diffuser, in which a flow path extends from the inlet to the outlet, and in which the outlet defines a second flow area greater than the first flow area so that a velocity of fluid flowing through the inlet is greater than a velocity of fluid flowing through the outlet; and a communication port extending through a wall of the diffuser with an inlet in communication with an interior of the diffuser and an outlet in communication with an exterior of the diffuser, in which the communication port inlet is between the diffuser inlet and the diffuser outlet, so that contaminants separated from the fluid stream are removed through the communication port.

Oil separator

An oil separator includes a housing into which mixed gas in which unburned gas and engine oil are mixed with each other is introduced from a crank case; a centrifuge mounted in the housing and generating centrifugal force to the mixed gas to thereby separate the engine oil from the mixed gas; and a filter separator mounted in the housing and filtering the engine oil in the mixed gas. Since the engine oil is primarily separated through the centrifuge and secondarily separated through the filter separator, engine oil separation efficiency is improved as compared to the related art, and the same amount of gas may be treated even with a small size as compared to the related art.

Switching Membrane for a Pressure Control Valve and a Pressure Control Valve

A switching membrane for a pressure control valve has a plate-shaped flat body with a central area and a bending area surrounding the central area. The central area is provided with a closure area. For switching the switching membrane, the central area can be moved back and forth by a bending movement of the bending area in a direction transverse to an extension of the central area. At least the bending area is made of fluorocarbon rubber. A pressure control valve, especially for crankcase ventilation, is provided with a valve housing that has a housing cover and further is provided with a valve seat. A switching membrane as described above is disposed in the valve housing and switches at pressure differences of at most 500 mbar to release or shut off a flow of fluid at the valve seat.

Actuator for use in a separator

An actuator for a separator for separating contaminants from a fluid stream which includes entrained contaminants. The actuator is arranged to move along an actuator axis to adjust an open cross-sectional area of at least one aperture of the separator, and comprises a flexible diaphragm, and a support assembly for the flexible diaphragm. The support assembly is movable along the actuator axis carrying the flexible diaphragm and has an upper support member mounted on a lower support member. A portion of the flexible diaphragm is located between the upper and lower support members. The lower support member comprises an axially extending support portion coupled to a radially extending support portion. The upper support member comprises a diaphragm anti-inversion feature coupled to a radially extending support portion. The diaphragm anti-inversion feature extends such that it axially overlaps at least part of the axially extending support portion of the lower support member.

Vibration-type oil separator and blow-by gas recirculation system employing the same

A vibration-type oil separator includes a housing having a blow-by gas entering path through which a blow-by gas enters, an oil-discharging path which discharges an oil separated from the blow-by gas to outside, and a gas-discharging path which discharges a gas obtained by separating the oil from the blow-by gas to the outside. A vibration cylinder has an orifice formed thereon for escaping the gas and generating vibration by a back pressure of the blow-by gas and an external force applied to the housing to separate the oil and the blow-by gas. A fixing rod fixes the vibration cylinder in an internal space of the housing, in which both side portions thereof are fixed to the housing and a central portion thereof is fixed to the vibration cylinder.

Crankcase ventilation device

A crankcase ventilation device features a closing valve with a valve body, the valve body executes a positioning movement between a closed and an opened position. A sensor device for detecting the positioning movement of the valve body is disposed in the housing.

Internal Combustion Engine Lubricated With a Water-Containing Lubricant

An internal combustion engine includes an internal combustion engine interior and a lubricant disposed in the internal combustion engine interior. The lubricant lubricates a component disposed in the internal combustion engine interior and the lubricant is a water-containing lubricant. In an embodiment, the internal combustion engine interior is fluidically connected to an environment surrounding the internal combustion engine by a ventilation device where the ventilation device has a semipermeable membrane which is impermeable to water and water vapor.

Device for separating particles from a gas flow, particle separator and crankcase ventilation system

A device separates particles, such as oil particles, from a gas flow, from a blow-by gas of a crankcase ventilation, in an internal combustion engine. The device includes a valve seat, which defines at least one flow passage opening and through which the gas flow at least partially flows in a main flow direction, and a movable valve element, which can be adjusted relative to the valve seat such that flow guide surfaces of the valve seat and the valve element deflect the gas flow in such a way that particles separate from the gas flow due to the impact of the particles on the flow guide surfaces. At least one flow guide surface of the valve seat or the valve element has at least one turbine blade-like guide projection or at least one turbine blade-like guide depression in order to transform the gas flow into a swirling flow.

Valve with Valve Body, and Crankcase Ventilation Device

A valve has a valve housing with a valve seat and a valve body holder with a fluid-permeable flow opening. A valve body is arranged in the valve body holder and axially displaceable between an open state and a closed state of the valve. The valve body has an envelope surface with a sealing region for fluid-tightly contacting the valve seat in the closed state. It has a base region adjoining the sealing region in longitudinal direction. A cross section contour of the envelope surface increases monotonously from the sealing region to the base region. In the open state, an axial end of the base region contacts the valve body holder. The envelope surface has a weakened region connecting sealing region and base region to each other. The weakened region has a reduced stiffness along the longitudinal direction. The valve body is formed of a thermoplastic polyhalogen olefin.
