Noise, vibration and harshness reduction in a skip fire engine control system
A variety of methods and arrangements for reducing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) in a skip fire engine control system are described. In one aspect, a firing sequence is used to operate the engine in a skip fire manner. A smoothing torque is determined that is applied to a powertrain by an energy storage/release device. The smoothing torque is arranged to at least partially cancel out variation in torque generated by the skip fire firing sequence. Various methods, powertrain controllers, arrangements and computer software related to the above operations are also described.
Engine oil state control device
An engine oil state control device for controlling a fuel mixture ratio of a fuel mixed in an engine oil of an engine on which a predetermined combustion control is performed includes comprising a fuel mixture ratio acquisition part configured to acquire the fuel mixture ratio, and an oil temperature rise control part configured to perform an oil temperature rise control for increasing an evaporation rate of the fuel mixed in the engine oil if the fuel mixture ratio is equal to or greater than a first threshold.
Heat exchanger system
The invention relates to a heat exchanger system, in particular for connection to an internal combustion engine, preferably of a motor vehicle, comprising at least one heat exchanger module, in particular oil-water heat exchanger module (10), and a layer heating module (11), which is mounted or mountable on the heat exchanger module, wherein the layer heating module (11) comprises a substrate, in particular a carrier plate (12), and an electric heating coating (13) applied to the substrate, in particular to the carrier plate (12).
OIL CIRCULATION SYSTEM FOR PREHEATING, LUBRICATING, AND COOLING USED FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND INDUSTRIAL FACILITY
The present invention provides a preheating, lubricating, and cooling system that oil essentially used for lubrication, wear resistance, and cooling of an internal combustion engine, industrial equipment, or a mobile vehicle is used as a preheating medium, a manager supplies the oil most optimized for load operation of equipment through a preheating system separated from the existing main oil system, and an oil supply path uses a path of the existing oil system, so that the preheating and the load operation are facilitated during an extremely cold season and an extremely hot season, and a normal operation is possible even in a case of being immediately stopped after the operation.
Diagnosable connector device of a ventilating device for an internal combustion engine
A connection device for connecting a ventilating line to an intake air flow guide of an internal combustion engine, wherein the connection device has a non-return valve for preventing a flow from the intake air flow guide into the ventilating line. The connection device has at least one hole which is arranged upstream of the non-return valve and connects an interior chamber of the connection device to a surrounding area of the connection device.
Gas Turbine Engine Heaters
An engine heater system for supplying compressed air to an air brake of a vehicle. The engine heater system including a gas turbine. A compressor fluidly coupled to an air reservoir of the vehicle. The air reservoir fluidly coupled to an air brake of the vehicle. A shaft rotatably attached between the gas turbine and the compressor, and when the gas turbine rotates the shaft, the compressor provides compressed air to the air reservoir of the vehicle for operating the air brake of the vehicle.
GDCI engine with accelerated oil warm-up
A piston oil squirter is selectively opened when an oil temperature is below a threshold oil temperature to transfer heat from the combustion chamber and heat the oil more rapidly when the engine is cold.
Use of different pneumatic cylinder spring types in a variable displacement engine for engine and aftertreatment system temperature control
A system and method for a variable displacement internal combustion engine using different types of pneumatic cylinder springs on skipped working cycles to control engine and aftertreatment system temperatures are described. The system and method may be used to rapidly heat up the aftertreatment system(s) and/or an engine block of the engine following a cold start by using one or more different types of pneumatic cylinder springs during skipped firing opportunities. By rapidly heating the aftertreatment system(s) and/or engine block, noxious emissions such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, NO.sub.x and/or particulates, following cold starts are significantly reduced.
MARINE PROPULSION AND GENERATOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A marine propulsion system for a marine vessel includes an engine effectuating rotation of an output shaft, multiple batteries configured to power a marine vessel load, and an alternator having a rotor that is driven into rotation by the output shaft and that outputs a charge current to the batteries. The marine propulsion system further includes a control system configured to operate the engine in a propulsion mode and a generator mode. Upon receiving a generator mode command to start the engine in the generator mode, the control system operates the engine in accordance with a set of generator parameters to charge the batteries while a shift system of the marine propulsion system is locked in a neutral position such that the propulsor cannot be engaged and the marine vessel remains stationary.
APPARATUS FOR HEATING LUBRICATING OIL
An apparatus is described for heating oil for an internal-combustion engine. The apparatus includes a heat-exchanger arranged within an oil sump of the internal-combustion engine, which is flowed through or capable of being flowed through by a thermal medium for the purpose of emitting heat to oil in the oil sump. The apparatus further includes a heat-source in fluidic communication with the heat-exchanger, which is designed to heat the thermal medium outside the oil sump and outside the internal-combustion engine.
