Heat shield, exhaust system and automobile

A heat shield comprises a first thermal insulation section and a second thermal insulation section, wherein the second thermal insulation section is axially connected to the first thermal insulation section, and the thermal insulation performance of the second thermal insulation section is lower than that of the first thermal insulation section. The heat shield is advantageous in that it cannot only achieve a good integral thermal insulation effect, but also protect thermal-fatigue weak zones of an exhaust system shell, so as to prolong the operating life of the exhaust system and reduce the costs of maintenance and repair for an automobile, etc.

Exhaust headers with integrated heat shielding and thermal syphoning

An exhaust header with an integrated heat shield is disclosed. In one aspect of the disclosure, the exhaust header comprises a body including an inner wall that defines a cavity through which exhaust gases can be routed. An outer wall is integrally formed with, and radially offset from, the inner wall to define an air gap through which an airflow can be received at an input of the exhaust header and passed along a periphery of the body to collect thermal radiation and route it through an outlet duct. In some embodiments, the exhaust header is coupled to a turbocharger, which itself is coupled to an exhaust outlet of the body and separately, the air gap for effecting an airflow about the turbocharger's perimeter. Further, in various embodiments, the exhaust header is additively manufactured to produce the integrated heat shield and other header components.

Heating Device for an Exhaust System of an Internal Combustion Engine

A heating device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine; the heating device has: a first tubular body wherein a combustion chamber is obtained; a fuel injector to inject fuel into the combustion chamber; an inlet opening, which is obtained through the first tubular body and can be connected to a fan to receive an air flow, which is directed into the combustion chamber; a hot air outlet opening to let hot air out of the combustion chamber; an outlet duct, which originates from the outlet opening; a spark plug which is mounted through a side wall of the first tubular body to trigger the combustion of a mixture of air and fuel; and a labyrinth, which surrounds a side wall of the tubular body, starts from the inlet opening, ends in the combustion chamber, and the air must necessarily flow out of the inlet opening until reaching the combustion chamber.

Fluid injectors for hot flow

A fluid injector for injecting an injection fluid into a hot flow can include a flow structure defining an injection flow channel and configured to extend at least partially into a flow path to introduce the injection fluid into the hot flow in the flow path. The flow structure can include one or more heat resistance features to protect the flow structure and the fluid from heat of the hot flow.

Exhaust pipe, combustion engine machine, and motor vehicle

An exhaust pipe for the exhaust tract of a combustion machine, which has an inlet opening for an air connection, is characterized by an inner pipe section which is surrounded by an outer pipe section in order to form an annular channel that is closed at one end and at the other end is open toward the inner volume of the exhaust pipe, wherein the inlet opening for the air connection opens into the outer pipe section. By means of such an exhaust pipe, advantageous mixing of air supplied via the air connection into the exhaust gas flowing within the exhaust pipe can be achieved with a simple design, which can be attributed in particular to the complete introduction of the air in combination with the flow direction that is present along the longitudinal axis of the annular channel and the exhaust pipe.
