SHIELDING ELEMENT
20220325653 · 2022-10-13 ·

A shielding element, which comprises at least two sections that are embodied to be linearly connected to each other in abutting fashion on at least one contact surface so as to enclose a three-dimensionally shaped profile or pipe segment of an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine over a certain length when in use. In order to modify a shielding element of the above-mentioned type while amplifying its effect with other positive properties, it is proposed for the sections of the shielding element to each comprise at least one electrical heating system, which, in an installed position, is thermally directed at the pipe segment that is to be enclosed.

AN EXHAUST GAS ASSEMBLY

An exhaust duct assembly for conveying exhaust gases emanating from a combustion zone to atmosphere is disclosed. The assembly includes: an exhaust gas outlet for exhausting exhaust gas into the atmosphere; and an acoustic duct portion located upstream of the exhaust gas outlet, the acoustic duct portion having a peripheral wall defining a through-passage arranged and constructed to promote propagation of sound there-through. The acoustic duct portion has a length in a flow direction that is at least 50% of an average hydraulic diameter of the through-passage.

An engine muffler apparatus for reducing noise and pollution from small gas engines such as those on landscaping tools includes an outer housing having a central neck extension with a principal aperture extending through to an outer housing cavity. The neck extension is selectively engageable with an exhaust of a small gas engine. The outer housing cavity has a plurality of vent apertures. An intake extension tube and a medial tube are coupled to the outer housing cavity. The medial tube has a medial cavity. A first filtering medium is coupled within the medial cavity and filters pollutants passing therethrough. A second filtering medium is coupled within the outer housing cavity outside of the medial tube and dampens sound waves passing through the apparatus from the exhaust.

Heat shield assembly for a vehicle exhaust system and exhaust system component of a motor vehicle

An exhaust system component of a motor vehicle includes a gas-carrying housing, a heat shield seated on an outside of the housing, and at least one wire mesh provided at least partly between the heat shield and the housing. The wire mesh includes a first attachment point and a second attachment point. The heat shield is attached to the housing via the wire mesh, and the wire mesh is attached to both the heat shield, via the first attachment point, and to the housing via the second attachment point. The first attachment point is separate from the second attachment point.

Method for producing a fibrous mat for the acoustic and/or thermal insulation of a component of a motor vehicle

Method for producing a fibrous mat, which can be installed in a component of a vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine for acoustically and thermally insulating the component. The method comprises the steps of: providing a fibrous core consisting of at least one fibrous bundle that extends along a direction that is approximately parallel to a longitudinal axis; wrapping the outer surface of the fibrous core by means of a fibrous bundle that extends along a direction that is approximately transverse to the bundle of the fibrous core, thus providing at least one outer tubular fibrous containment sleeve that extends, in turn, along the longitudinal axis and covers the outer surface of the fibrous core to trap the fibrous core therein.

Exhaust manifold heat dissipation cover coupling device for thermal stress and vibration deflection

An exhaust manifold heat dissipation cover coupling device for thermal stress and vibration deflection is proposed. The device has a function of preventing wear of a heat dissipation cover to couple an exhaust manifold heat dissipation cover, the device being able to improve the durability of various parts including a heat dissipation cover by attenuating multi-directional vibration that is transmitted from an exhaust manifold when the heat dissipation cover is installed outside the exhaust manifold, being able to prevent damage to parts due to thermal stress by flexibly coping with thermal deformation such as thermal contraction or thermal expansion even if the thermal deformation is generated by high-temperature heat transmitted from the exhaust manifold, and being able to prevent frictional damage of the heat dissipation cover due to friction by a component that slides to attenuate vibration.
