DOSING AND MIXING ASSEMBLIES FOR EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM

A dosing and mixing assembly for an exhaust aftertreatment device includes a conduit arrangement defining overlapping, coaxial flow paths that join at a common flow path. The conduit arrangement defines a mixing region upstream of the overlapping, coaxial flow paths, an impact region at the overlapping, coaxial flow paths, and a merge region where the coaxial flow paths join. The outer of the coaxial flow paths insulates the inner of the flow paths at least as the impact region. Reactant can be dispensed into the inner flow path along a spray path that intersects the impact region of the conduit arrangement. A spray protector can be provided at or upstream of the mixer to inhibit swirling of reactant at the doser nozzle.

HYPERBOLOID (CONCAVE) BELLOWS

The hyperboloid (or concave) exhaust bellows includes a plurality of convolutions of varying heights arranged in a hyperboloid (or concave) configuration. The hyperboloid bellows has increased strength and resiliency in high stress environments due to the hyperboloid configuration of the convolutions. The hyperboloid bellows allows for increased lateral movement in the same axial space or envelope compared to the prior art. The hyperboloid bellows having the hyperboloid shaped expansion joint produces an excessive amount of lateral motion using a single ply to multi-plies metal expansion joint bellows.

An exhaust muffler includes first and second pipes which extend through a casing, and which are disposed so that a downstream end of the first pipe faces an upstream end of the second pipe, wherein the downstream end of the first pipe and the upstream end of the second pipe are disposed so as to be spaced from each other in an axial direction, one end part of a support member having a circular cross section that has a smaller diameter than those of the first and the second pipes is fixed to one of a first lid member covering an opening at the downstream end of the first pipe and a second lid member covering an opening at the upstream end of the second pipe, and the other end part of the support member is slidably fitted to the other of the first and the second lid members.

Flexible pipe element and method for inserting a seal in a flexible pipe element

A flexible pipe element is provided formed as a metal bellows with at least one corrugated bellows section and a bellows brim, which forms one end of the metal bellows, and a connection element for connecting the metal bellows to a continuing pipe part or to a connector, with the connection element having a connection area for abutting a contact area of the bellows brim. An annular bulge is formed in the contact area of the bellows brim and/or in the connection area of the connection element projecting beyond an average level of the contact area and/or an average level of the connection area in order to form a linear seal between the contact area and the connection area. A method for producing such a flexible line part is also provided.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger 100, including: an inner cylinder 10 through which a first fluid can flow, the inner cylinder 10 being configured to house a heat recovery member 30; and an outer cylinder 20 disposed so as to be spaced on a radially outer side of the inner cylinder 10 such that a second fluid can flow between the outer cylinder 20 and the inner cylinder 10. In the heat exchanger 100, at least a part of the outer cylinder 20 and/or the inner cylinder 10 has at least one continuous irregular structure 40.

An exhaust device for an internal combustion engine of a saddled vehicle includes an exhaust muffler disposed on an outer side of a rear wheel so as to overlap the rear wheel when viewed from a side a muffler protector which covers the muffler. The muffler protector includes an inner protector half body covering the exhaust muffler from the rear wheel side and an outer protector half body covering the exhaust muffler from a vehicle outer side opposite to the rear wheel The inner protector half body is detachably mounted on the exhaust muffler or the outer protector half body while maintaining a state in which the outer protector half body is mounted on the exhaust muffler.

Bellows having tweezers-shaped corrugated portions and method for manufacturing same
11092062 · 2021-08-17 · ·

A bellows having tweezers-shaped corrugated portions for increasing resistance and restoring force against torsion includes: a first flat part having a flat cylindrical shape; a second flat part having a flat cylindrical shape and disposed opposite to the first flat part; and a plurality of corrugated portions, each having a tweezers shape and disposed between the first flat part and the second flat part, wherein each of the plurality of corrugated portions is sequentially connected to each other, so as to increase resistance and restoring force against torsion.

THIN WALLED WELDED CONNECTION
20210180503 · 2021-06-17 · ·

A method of attaching a casted metal part and a metal hose line includes: providing a cast metal part having a cylindrical portion; providing a metal hose line; heating the metal hose line to a temperature of between 500 and 900 degrees Fahrenheit; positioning the inner diameter of the metal hose line over the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion; allowing the metal hose line to cool to reduce the gap between the inner diameter of the metal hose line and the outer diameter of the cast metal part; and forming a first weld along an outer circumference of the metal hose line, wherein the width of the first weld at the connection between the hose line and cast metal part is 50% or less than the metal hose wall thickness.

Line element for compensating for expansions and/or relative movements

A line element for compensating for expansions and/or relative movements within a line through which fluid can flow, comprising a ring-corrugation or helical-corrugation bellows 1 and a hose 3, which is arranged coaxially in the interior of the bellows 1 and is made of a dimensionally stable material, for flow-guidance purposes. The hose 3 has a number of individual, essentially dimensionally stable ring-form hose elements 4 which are plugged axially one inside the other so as to be retained such that they can be moved axially and/or angularly in relation to one another between a compressed position and an extended position. A method for producing such a line element is also provided.
