An exhaust treatment device for a diesel engine is provided, which includes a parked regeneration requirement notification component and a parked regeneration start operation component. A regeneration process of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) includes an automatic regeneration process and a parked regeneration process. The automatic regeneration process is automatically started when an estimation value of particulate material (PM) accumulated in the DPF reaches a predetermined automatic regeneration start determination value. The parked regeneration process is performed when first and a second conditions are satisfied. The first condition is that a parked regeneration requirement notification component performs a notification of a parked regeneration requirement when a number of cancellations of the automatic regeneration process reaches a predetermined value. The second condition is that the parked regeneration start operation component is subjected to a start operation during a parked state in which an engine equipped machine is neither traveling nor working.

METHOD FOR CLEANING A COMPONENT OF AN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM AND AN EXHAUST SYSTEM

A method is disclosed for cleaning a component of an exhaust aftertreatment system located downstream of a combustion engine in an exhaust flow path delimited by an outer wall. The exhaust aftertreatment system includes a first device releasably mounted in the outer wall upstream of the component and a second device releasably mounted in the outer wall downstream of the component, each of the devices being a sensor or an injector. The method includes sealing the exhaust flow path upstream of the first device and downstream of the second device, removing at least the first and second devices, thereby providing at least two openings in the outer wall, so that a cleaning flow path is provided, and introducing cleaning fluid into at least one of the openings, so that the cleaning fluid flows across the component via the cleaning flow path.

Methods and systems are provided for filtering particulate matter in an exhaust passage of an engine system. In one example, a method may include during a cold start condition comprising an engine temperature being less than a threshold engine temperature, directing engine exhaust gas to an exhaust particulate filter, and during a warm engine condition, directing engine exhaust gas to bypass the exhaust particulate filter, wherein the warm engine condition comprises the engine temperature being greater than or equal to the threshold engine temperature and fuel being combusted in the engine. In this way, the exhaust particulate filter may be reliably regenerated during engine shutdown events such as DFSOs while reducing filter degradation, and lowering PM emissions.

Systems and methods for particulate filter load estimation

Methods and systems are provided for monitoring a change in exhaust particulate filter (PF) soot load during an engine non-combusting condition. In one example, a method may include, responsive to a higher than threshold PF temperature immediately prior to an engine shutdown, estimating a rate of soot burn when the engine is no longer combusting, and estimating a soot load on the PF during and at an onset of immediately subsequent engine start based in part on the rate of soot burn.

Method and device for regenerating a particulate filter in a motor vehicle with a hybrid drive

The invention relates to a method for regenerating a particulate filter in the exhaust gas channel of a motor vehicle with a hybrid drive consisting of an electric motor and an internal combustion engine. In this context, the internal combustion engine is lugged by the electric motor in order to regenerate the particulate filter. The internal combustion engine transports oxygen-rich air into the exhaust gas channel, a process in which the soot retained in the particulate filter is oxidized by the oxygen and the particulate filter can thus be regenerated. In this process, during the regeneration of the particulate filter, the quantity of air is controlled by a throttle valve in the air supply means of the internal combustion engine in order to allow the particulate filter to be regenerated as quickly and efficiently as possible. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle with a hybrid drive comprising an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, whereby the hybrid drive has a control unit to carry out such a method for the regeneration of the particulate filter.

This invention relates to an electronic engine management system and method for a truck mounted forklift (TMFL). The TMFL electronic engine management system (EEMS) comprises a processor and a memory having computer program instructions loaded thereon. The computer program instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the EEMS to (i) determine when the amount of particulate matter (PM) in the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is above a first predetermined level, PL1; (ii) latch the engine into a DPF regeneration mode, causing the engine to automatically enter DPF regeneration mode each time the engine is turned on until the PM level is below a first regenerated level, RL1; and (iii) unlatch the engine from DPF regeneration mode once the amount of PM in the DPF is below RL1. In this way, the majority of DPF regeneration will be carried out in an active level 2 regeneration mode, avoiding the likelihood of carrying out regeneration at higher regeneration levels.
