CONTROL METHOD FOR AN ENGINE COOLANT VALVE
A control method for an engine coolant valve includes: monitoring an engine driving condition and an engine driving environment; predicting, by a controller, degradation of an engine coolant based on the engine driving condition and the engine driving environment by a controller; changing, by the controller, an opening of an integrated flow control valve when the engine coolant is predicted to be degraded; and generating, by the controller, a coolant exchange alarm when the engine coolant is predicted to be out of a control range and degraded.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION SYSTEM
An internal combustion system capable of exactly determining timing of exchanging a coolant of an engine. The internal combustion system includes an engine, cooling circulation mechanism circulating the coolant containing ethylene glycol to the engine while cooling it, temperature sensor measuring the temperature of the coolant having passed through the engine, and control device. The control device includes a number of cold starts counting unit determining engine cold start and counting the number of cold starts before coolant exchange, an accumulated amount of time measuring unit measuring an accumulated amount of time when the coolant temperature measured by the temperature sensor is a defined temperature or higher before the coolant exchange, and an exchange determination unit determining the need for coolant exchange, when the accumulated amount of time is a defined amount of time or greater and the number of cold starts is a defined number of times or greater.

Air duct for water ingress management in a vehicle
An air guide duct for water ingress management having at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet channel which has an upstream inlet opening in fluid communication with the at least one air inlet and a downstream outlet opening into at least one of the front wheel wells, whereby incoming air from the front end of the motor vehicle is guided into at least one of the front wheel wells. A bottom surface of the upstream inlet opening is disposed at a first vertical position and a bottom surface of the downstream outlet opening is disposed at a second vertical position, with the bottom surface of the downstream outlet opening being disposed lower than the bottom surface of the upstream inlet opening relative to the front wheel wells such that a height differential is defined between the first vertical position and the second vertical position.
Marine vessel propulsion device
A marine vessel propulsion device having a metal component in contact with water. The marine vessel propulsion device includes an anticorrosive anode made of a metal material that is less corrosion-resistant than the metal component, is electrically connected to the metal component, and is disposed in contact with the water contacting the metal component, a primary reference electrode isolated from the metal component and the anticorrosive anode, and disposed in contact with the water contacting the metal component, and a potentiometer that detects a potential difference of the metal component or the anticorrosive anode with respect to the primary reference electrode.

Thermal management device for vehicle
A thermal management device for a vehicle includes heat medium circuits, a reserve tank, and a connector. The heat medium circulates through the heat medium circuits separately. The reserve tank is configured to separate an air bubble contained in the heat medium from the heat medium. The connector allows the reserve tank to come in communication with the heat medium circuits selectively. As such, an occurrence of the heat loss in the degassing performed in the reserve tank can be suppressed with the thermal management device for a vehicle including the heat medium circuits.
Control method for internal combustion engine and control device for internal combustion engine
A control method and a control device are provided for an internal combustion engine structured to vary a mechanical compression ratio by varying a range of slide of a piston with respect to a cylinder bore, and structured to control a flow of cooling water in a water jacket formed around the cylinder bore, wherein variation of the mechanical compression ratio causes the piston to slide on a corroded portion formed in the cylinder bore. A control process includes: acquiring a temperature correlating with a cylinder bore wall temperature; and stopping the flow of cooling water in the water jacket, in response to a condition that the acquired temperature is lower than a preset temperature point.
