AIR-ASSISTED JET FLAME IGNITION DEVICE AND IGNITION METHOD THEREOF
An air-assisted jet flame ignition device includes a housing, a fuel-air premixing unit, and a prechamber. The fuel-air premixing unit includes a fuel injector, an air injection valve, a premixing sleeve, a premixing sleeve inner core placed in the premixing sleeve, and a fuel injector fastening bolt. An inner wall surface of the premixing sleeve and an outer wall surface of the premixing sleeve inner core form a premixing sleeve inner cavity. An inner wall surface of the premixing sleeve inner core, a lower end surface of a nozzle of the fuel injector, and an upper end surface of an air inlet of the air injection valve form a premixing cavity. The premixing cavity coupled to the premixing sleeve inner cavity via a through hole on the sidewall of the premixing sleeve inner core. A prechamber nozzle is fixedly coupled to the lower part of the housing.

Parallel prechamber ignition system
An air/fuel mixture is ignited in an internal combustion engine by receiving the air/fuel mixture as an incoming air/fuel mixture flow from a main combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine into an enclosure adjacent the main combustion chamber. The enclosure defines a first chamber enclosing first and second ignition bodies and the enclosure defines a second chamber adjacent the first chamber and connected to the first chamber via a passage. A portion of the air/fuel mixture received in the enclosure is directed toward an ignition gap between the first and second ignition bodies and another portion is directed into the second chamber. The air/fuel mixture is then ignited in the ignition gap, and flame from combustion in the first chamber is ejected into the main combustion chamber. Then, flame from combustion in the second chamber is ejected into the main combustion chamber.
Ignition insert with an active pre-chamber
The ignition insert with an active pre-chamber (1) comprises an insert well (72) arranged in a cylinder head (3) of an internal combustion engine (2), said well (72) accommodating a cylindrical insert body (70) which is indexed in rotation and in which are arranged an ignition pre-chamber (71), an insert spark plug well (83) receiving a spark plug (12), and a injector radial orifice (88) which is aligned with a injector lateral well (73) arranged in the cylinder head (3) so as to receive an injector nose (16), said body (70) being terminated by a pre-chamber nose (75) opening into a combustion chamber (5), and being held in the insert well (72) by fixing means (82) cooperating with clamping means (74).
Magnetic valve recoil device
The magnetic valve recoil device is intended for a valve-type ignition pre-chamber having a stratification cavity connected by a stratification pipe, which a stratification valve can close, to a combustion chamber housing a primary charge, a stratification injector, and an ignition unit leading to the cavity in order to inject and ignite an initiator charge so as to ignite the primary charge via a torch ignition pre-chamber formed by the stratification valve with the stratification pipe when it is not closing the latter, the valve being otherwise kept in contact with the pipe by a magnetic field created by a magnetic field source.

Method of operating an engine having a pilot subchamber at partial load conditions
A method of operating an internal combustion engine having pilot subchambers communicating with main combustion chambers, the internal combustion engine configured in use to deliver a main fuel injection of a maximum quantity of fuel to the main combustion chambers when the internal combustion engine is operated at maximum load. The method includes delivering a pilot fuel injection of at most 10% of the maximum quantity to the pilot subchambers, igniting the pilot fuel injection within the pilot subchambers, directing the ignited fuel from the pilot subchambers to the main combustion chambers, and delivering a main fuel injection of a main quantity of fuel to at least one of the main combustion chambers receiving the ignited fuel, with the main quantity being at most 10% of the maximum quantity.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A method of operating the stratified charge Merritt Engine described in WO2005/052335 and WO2007/0830366 enabling new benefits such as full compliance with NOx emission regulations, control over peak pressures, increased power density, and high fuel economy all enabled by preprogramming the timing of the gasoline direct fuel injection process.
