An engine exhaust system includes a catalytic converter, an exhaust conduit connected upstream of the catalytic converter, and an oxygen sensor extending into the exhaust conduit at a first axial position of the exhaust conduit. A valve is located within the exhaust conduit at the first axial position. The valve includes a movable throttle plate having a bypass notch formed on a periphery of the plate. The valve has an open position, and a closed position in which the bypass notch is placed adjacent to the oxygen sensor to guide exhaust over the oxygen sensor.
Exhaust restriction device for improved sensor signal

A throttle body for an engine includes a throttle body housing, a throttle body plate supported by and rotatable within the throttle body housing, and a tab carried by the throttle body housing and movable between a first position in which the tab is in direct contact with the throttle body plate to prevent rotation of the throttle body plate and maintain the throttle body plate in a closed position, and a second position in which the tab is not in direct contact with the throttle body plate to permit rotation of the throttle body plate.
Control device for an internal combustion engine
A control device for an internal combustion engine includes an intake channel with an inlet and an outlet, a control element, an exhaust gas recirculation channel with an opening, a recirculation channel, and a shaft having the control element eccentrically mounted thereon. The exhaust gas recirculation channel enters the intake channel. The opening of the exhaust gas recirculation channel is a valve seat for the control element. The shaft acts as an axis of rotation for the control element. A rotation of the shaft moves the control element between a first end position where the control element throttles the intake channel and a second end position where the control element contacts the valve seat at the opening of the exhaust gas recirculation channel. The axis of rotation is arranged in a plane which passes through the valve seat at the opening of the exhaust gas recirculation channel.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A control device for an internal combustion engine includes an intake channel with an inlet and an outlet, a control element, an exhaust gas recirculation channel with an opening, a recirculation channel, and a shaft having the control element eccentrically mounted thereon. The exhaust gas recirculation channel enters the intake channel. The opening of the exhaust gas recirculation channel is a valve seat for the control element. The shaft acts as an axis of rotation for the control element. A rotation of the shaft moves the control element between a first end position where the control element throttles the intake channel and a second end position where the control element contacts the valve seat at the opening of the exhaust gas recirculation channel. The axis of rotation is arranged in a plane which passes through the valve seat at the opening of the exhaust gas recirculation channel.
BYPASS VALVE FOR TURBOCHARGER
A bypass valve for an engine with turbocharging for use in a pipe section of a bypass. The bypass valve has a sealing device which comprises a flap. The flap is mounted to be doubly rotatable via a first axis of rotation and via a second axis of rotation.

A valve flap device having at least one valve housing having a shaft comprising a bearing surface and a valve axis, the shaft being rotationally supported about the valve axis by means of the bearing surface in the valve housing. A bearing element having a sliding bearing surface, wherein the bearing surface of the shaft contacts the sliding bearing surface. A bearing housing provided on the valve housing, in which the bearing element is supported at least in the radial direction to the valve axis, wherein the bearing element has an outer surface contacting the bearing housing. The support of the shaft is intended to be sufficiently tightly sealed, even for gaseous media, while simultaneously ensuring precise and statically determinate support. To this end, the bearing element is designed as a separate component coupled to the bearing housing about the valve axis with respect to the circumferential direction, such that the relative position between the bearing element and the bearing housing does not change in the circumferential direction when the shaft is rotated.
