ENGINE AIR SHUT-OFF VALVE SYSTEM
The engine shut-off valve system includes a housing, a gate member, a rotating lever, a locking piston assembly, and a closing piston assembly. The system is installed in fluid connection with a flow line so that air flow passes through a passageway in the housing with the gate member in the locked configuration. The air flow through the passageway stops with the gate member in the closed configuration. The gate member has an asymmetry so that the forces of the spring of the closing piston assembly and the spring of the locking piston assembly are cooperative to actuate between the closed configuration and the locked configuration, while wearing on the gate member differently so as to extend the working life of the valve system. The closing piston assembly and the locking piston assembly are separately accessible for maintenance.
Intake control valve and intake apparatus
An intake control valve includes a valve body being made of resin, the valve body configured to be pivotally mounted to a surge tank of an internal combustion engine, the valve body pivoting between an open position and a closed position to for opening and closing a fluid passage formed at a division wall, the division wall dividing inside of the surge tank into two portions; and a bearing being made of metal, the bearing being integrally provided with a first end portion of the valve body by insert molding when resin molding the resin-made valve body.
VALVE DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A valve device for a motor vehicle, comprising a housing, a flow channel located in the housing, a flap arranged in the flow channel for closing the flow channel, the flap having regions in which a pin penetrating the flap is fastened and the pin is rotatably mounted in the housing, and a valve seat, which is arranged in the flow channel and which is in contact with the flap when the latter is in the closed position. The seal is arranged in the flow channel, the side of the seal facing the flap having a wall thickness which is greater than the rest of the cross-sectional surface, the area being opposite the flap in the closed state.
Exhaust valve for a motor vehicle
An automobile exhaust valve is provided, in particular for an automobile combustion engine and more particularly for an embodiment of an implementation of a gas passage shutter. A valve body defines a gas circulation passage along a longitudinal axis and is composed of only two identical half-bodies whose axes, parallel to the longitudinal axis, are offset radially, in order to define inside the valve body two seats on which sides of the gas passage shutter come into flat contact in a closed position. An exhaust pipe equipped with such a valve, and a vehicle equipped with such an exhaust pipe, are also provided.
Rotary control valve having minimized internal fluid leak rate when closed
A rotary control valve that includes a valve body, a valve shaft disposed within a bore of the valve body, a first valve seat disposed within the valve body, a first control element carried by the valve shaft, and a first pressure labyrinth at least partially defined by the first control element. The first control element is movably disposed in the first opening between a closed position, in which the first control element sealingly engages the first valve seat, thereby closing the first opening, and an open position, in which the first control element is spaced from the first valve seat, thereby opening the first opening. When the first control element is in the closed position, the first pressure labyrinth is configured to cause a pressure drop in fluid flowing therethrough, thereby minimizing an internal leak rate of the rotary control valve.
Control flap for controlled exhaust gas recirculation and method for its production
A control flap (1) has a flap body (2) and a circumferential seal (3) capable of sealing upon abutting to a sealing surface (7) of an opening (8). The flap body (2) and the seal (3) are made of elastomers. The seal (3) is joined to the flap body (2) by a pressure plate (4) made of a thermoplastic. The control flap may be made by a method that includes: producing the flap body (2) from a thermoplastic by injection molding; producing the pressure plate (4) from a thermoplastic by injection molding; producing the seal (3) from an elastomer by injection molding; introducing the pressure plate (4) into the undercut (10) of the seal (3); inserting the pressure plate (4) with the seal (3) into the recess (16) of the flap body (2) and bonding the pressure plate (4) and flap body (2).
Engine throttle body hydrocarbon emissions reduction system
A throttle body for an engine includes a throttle body housing, a throttle body plate supported by and rotatable within the throttle body housing, and a tab carried by the throttle body housing and movable between a first position in which the tab is in direct contact with the throttle body plate to prevent rotation of the throttle body plate and maintain the throttle body plate in a closed position, and a second position in which the tab is not in direct contact with the throttle body plate to permit rotation of the throttle body plate.
