CYLINDER HEAD FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
20210348580 · 2021-11-11 ·

The disclosure relates to a cylinder head for covering a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The cylinder head comprises at least one material recess for heat isolation, which is formed in a main body of the cylinder head and is arranged between a fluid-guide channel and a cooling channel. The material recess can be produced e.g. directly during the shaping (e.g. casting or pressing) of the cylinder head and/or thereafter. For example, in the event that exhaust gas is guided through the fluid-guide channel, a significantly lower heat input occurs from the hot exhaust gas into the cooling fluid. In addition, the thermal decoupling via the material recess leads to the hot exhaust gas cooling to a lesser degree in the fluid-guide channel.

Cylinder head

A cylinder head (1) disclosed herein includes a cylinder head main body (10) having an intake port (3) communicating with a combustion chamber (2) of an engine; and an insulation member (20) being arranged at an inner side of the intake port (3), made of resin, and formed into an annular shape. A step part (14) is formed at a downstream side of the insulation member (20) in a flow direction of intake air in the intake port (3) such that the intake port (3) has a cross section perpendicular to the flow direction at the downstream side smaller than a cross section perpendicular to the flow direction at an upstream side of the flow direction; and an annular seal member (21) that seals a space between the insulation member (20) and the step part (14) is arranged between the insulation member (20) and the step part (14).

Thermally insulated air inlet system for an internal combustion engine

The disclosure relates to an air inlet system for an internal combustion engine. The air inlet system has a cylinder head having an inlet channel for introducing inlet air into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The air inlet system has an air supply pipe piece, which is connected to the cylinder head and which at least partially forms an air supply channel, which opens in the inlet channel. The air inlet system additionally has thermal insulation, which is arranged in the air supply channel in order to reduce a heat transfer to the inlet air which flows in the air supply channel.

Thermally insulated insert member and engine having same

Provided is a thermally insulated insert member and an engine having the thermally insulated insert member. Thermally insulated insert member is disposed in an intake port of a cylinder head of the engine. The thermally insulated insert member includes a guide member that guides a flow of intake air flowing in t he intake port; and a thermally insulative support member with a shape that can be fitted within the intake port. The guide member is formed of a metal and is supported in the intake port via the thermally insulative support member.

Intake passage structure for an engine

An intake passage structure for an engine includes an intake port in a cylinder head of the engine, and connected to a combustion chamber to define an intake passage. The intake passage structure further includes a heat insulating member disposed along an inner surface of the intake port, and including a bulge having an upstream end surface which is a portion of an upstream end surface of the heat insulating member, the bulge has a radially outwardly protruding radially outer surface and has an increased wall thickness. The wall thickness of the bulge increases from downstream to upstream of the intake port. The upstream end surface of the bulge includes an injection machine connecting portion facing an injection gate configured to inject resin for forming the heat insulating member into the intake port.

Die assembly for intake port insert

The present invention provides a die assembly for molding a resin-made insert having a sleeve that is inserted into an intake port of an internal combustion engine. Each sleeve has one inlet and two outlets. The die assembly includes an inner die and an outer die. The inner die includes an inlet side part and an outlet side part. The inlet side part and the outlet side part mold an inner peripheral surface of the sleeve in an assembled state, and are removed in mutually opposite directions. By means of this assembly, a sleeve having a complicated structure and shape can be molded easily.
