The connection assembly includes the injector cup that receives and supports the fuel injector, a pair of retaining pins that an configured to retain an inlet end of the fuel injector within a bore of the injector cup, and a retaining clip that retains the retaining pins in corresponding through holes provided in the injector cup. The retaining clip is C-shaped and partially encircles the injector cup such that a first end of the retaining clip extends into the through hole that receives the first pin, the second end of the retaining clip extends into the through hole that receives the second pin. The retaining clip is configured to prevent the pins from exiting the respective through holes and minimize assembly noise.
High-Pressure Fuel Pump
A high-pressure fuel pump includes a pump housing, a receiving space in the pump housing, a pressure pulsation damper in the form of a diaphragm cell having two diaphragms, which pressure pulsation damper is arranged in the receiving space, and a holding device for holding the diaphragm cell in the receiving space. The holding device includes a connection portion, which is connected to the pump housing rigidly both in an axial direction and in a radial direction. The connection portion is fastened to the pump housing, both in the axial direction and in the radial direction, to an inner lateral surface of the pump housing that delimits the receiving space.
FUEL INJECTOR
In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in a fuel injector that includes an upper housing portion that defines an inlet passage adapted to receive fuel, and a lower housing portion that is attached to the upper housing portion and that defines an injector outlet adapted to dispense fuel. The fuel injector includes an electromagnetic coil assembly that is user removable while the upper housing portion remains attached to the lower housing portion. The fuel injector includes a movable pintle that is biased to a closed position that is adapted to prevent fuel from flowing through the injector outlet, and movable, responsive to magnetic force produced by energizing the electromagnetic coil assembly, to an open position that is adapted to permit fuel to flow through the injector outlet.
Fuel Delivery Assembly for an Internal Combustion Engine
A fuel delivery assembly for an internal combustion engine, including an injector cup, a fuel injector received therein, and a spring clip is disclosed. The injector cup has a circumferential wall with an external shoulder. The fuel injector has a shoulder which is axially spaced apart from the injector cup. The spring clip has a base portion with two radially compliant webs bearing against the shoulder of the circumferential wall and being in force-fit engagement with the circumferential wall. The spring clip has an axially compliant portion bearing against the shoulder of the fuel injector and being elastically deformable to bias the fuel injector in axial direction from the upper end towards the lower end.
Fuel Rail Assembly for an Internal Combustion Engine
A fuel rail assembly for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. It includes a main gallery and a plurality of fuel delivery outlets. Each fuel delivery outlet has an injector cup and an injector cup mounting connection arranged between the main gallery and the injector cup. A fixing bracket is adapted to fasten the main gallery to the engine. The fixing bracket is spaced apart from the injector cup and secured to the main gallery. A fastening element is provided to secure the fixing bracket to the engine. A rigid connection member is coupled to the fixing bracket extends between the fixing bracket and one of the injector cup and the injector cup mounting connection.
Fluid injection assembly
A fuel injector assembly with a fuel injector and a coupling device is disclosed. The coupling device includes a fuel injector cup, a plate element, one or more screws and a wing clip. The plate element includes at least one through-hole for fixedly coupling the fuel injector cup with the plate element by the screw or screws respectively, so that the fuel injector cup, the plate element and the screw(s) are positionally fixed with respect to each other. The wing clip is arranged at least partly around the fuel injector and extends outward in a radial direction such that the screw or screws, respectively, are operable to block a movement of the fuel injector relative to the plate element in a first direction of the central longitudinal axis by mechanical interaction with the wing clip.
Fuel injection system having a fuel-conducting component, a fuel injection valve and a connection element
A connecting element connecting a fuel injection valve to a fuel-conducting component includes: a main body having a receptacle space into which a fuel connector of the fuel injection valve is introduced; and a fastening element. At least one opening is provided in a wall of the main body surrounding the receptacle space. The fastening element for fastening the fuel connector on the main body is brought into the receptacle space at least partly through the at least one opening. At least one elastic bearing element is provided, and the fastening element brought at least partly through the opening into the receptacle space is supported on the wall of the main body via the at least one elastic bearing element.
