Fuel injector with duct assembly

Methods and systems are provided for a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine. In one example, a fuel injector includes a body having a flange shaped to seat within a shoulder of a passage of a cylinder head. The shoulder is positioned at an inner side of the cylinder head such that the fuel injector is coupled to the cylinder head at the inner side by the flange.

Injector clamping mechanism

An internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, includes at least one working cylinder and one cylinder head closing the working cylinder, in which an injector for injecting fuel is situated for the working cylinder. The engine includes a clamping claw for the injector for injecting fuel, whose one end is supported on the other end, in which at least two arms are provided in such a way that one arm of the clamping claw acts upon an injector in each case, and the injector presses against a seat or a seal in the cylinder head in a sealing manner with the aid of a defined force. The engine also include a clamping screw designed as a push-through screw and including a screw head collar and a corresponding thread is provided in the cylinder head, which fastens the clamping claw at the cylinder head. The arms of the clamping claw are designed in such a way that the arms of the clamping claw are supported on a support surface at the injector and on a support surface at the cylinder head.

Fuel Pump

The present invention provides a fuel pump capable of suppressing sticking of a plunger. The fuel pump of the present invention includes a plunger 2 that reciprocates, a cylinder 6 in which a guide hole 6a that guides the reciprocating motion of the plunger 2 extends in the axial direction, and a pump body 1 that holds the cylinder 6. The pump body 1 includes a cylinder insertion hole 1g into which the cylinder 6 is inserted, and a pressurizing chamber 11 that communicates with the cylinder insertion hole 1g and has a volume increased or decreased by the reciprocating motion of the plunger 2. The cylinder 6 includes a press-fitting portion 6b press-fitted into the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder insertion hole 1g, and a groove 6d formed at a position corresponding to the press-fitting portion 6b on the inner peripheral surface of the guide hole 6a.

THREADED FUEL RAILS
20170342950 · 2017-11-30 ·

A fuel rail assembly for gasoline direct injection fuel delivery to an engine. The assembly has a common rail tube. In the tube there are threaded orifices extending laterally. Injector sockets are adapted to mate with the threaded orifices. Each injector socket has a proximal nipple end region connected to the tube and a distal end region through which fuel is delivered to the engine. Screw threads are disposed around the proximal nipple end region. The screw threads include a lead thread that is received by the threaded orifices, thereby forming mechanical connections between the injector sockets and the tube that are adapted to withstand maximum pressures of fuel up tp 2900 psi.

Fluid injector mounting cup

A fuel injector cup includes a body having a first opening configured to receive fuel into the body and a second opening configured to receive a fuel injector for dispensing fuel. The cup further includes a mounting flange coupled with the body and extending therefrom, the mounting flange configured to be connected to a support surface to secure the cup to the support surface. The cup also includes a locating member coupled with at least one of the body or the mounting flange, the anti-rotation member configured to engage the fuel injector when received in the body and to orient and prevent rotation of the fuel injector relative to the body.
