Fuel injection system for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine and relative control method
A fuel injection system for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine having a number of cylinders, where a plurality of respective main combustion chambers are defined; a number of first injectors and spark plugs coupled to the cylinders; a number of combustion pre-chambers, each obtained in the area of a respective spark plug; a number of extraction ducts, which originate from a respective cylinder to extract the gas mixture present inside the respective main combustion chamber; a reserve, where the gases extracted by the extraction ducts are mixed with the quantity of fuel needed to obtain a combustion under stoichiometric conditions inside the combustion pre-chambers; and a number of second injectors, each coupled to a respective combustion pre-chamber, into which it injects the gas-and-fuel mixture coming from the reserve.
Surge suppression device, exhaust turbine type turbocharger and surge suppression method
A surge suppression device for suppressing surge in an exhaust turbine-type turbocharger includes: a high-pressure tank configured to accumulate high-pressure gas with a higher pressure than atmospheric pressure; a high-pressure gas injection line connecting the high-pressure tank and an upstream intake passage on an upstream side of a compressor of the turbocharger; an on-off valve configured to open and close the high-pressure gas injection line; and a control device configured to control the on-off valve on the basis of a relationship between a pressure ratio of the compressor of the turbocharger and an intake flow rate.

Flexible ignition device for gasoline compression ignition combustion in internal combustion engines
This disclosure presents, in one or more embodiments, an ignition device for a gasoline compression ignition engine. The ignition device includes a shuttle plunger with a gas chamber. The gas chamber is delimited by at least one sidewall of the shuttle plunger and captures exhaust gases. The ignition device also includes an electromagnetic coil that actuates the shuttle plunger in a first direction, a main body with a cavity containing the shuttle plunger and the electromagnetic coil, and a center electrode, fixed to the shuttle plunger, that ignites a fuel mixture.
SYSTEM DEVICE FOR STRATIFIED INJECTING EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION FOR CLEAN COMBUSTION OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Disclosed are two system devices for stratified injecting the recirculated exhaust gas and high-specific-heat-capacity or inert gas for clean combustion of an internal combustion engine. The former is composed of an exhaust gas recirculation system, an injection system, and a power system. The latter is composed of four parts, and a high-specific-heat-capacity gas or inert gas channel is added. Injectors can be arranged at any position in the cylinder between a top dead center and a bottom dead center of a piston in a cylinder; 1-3 layers of injectors can be arranged; and 2-6 injectors can be arranged on each layer. Gas participating in combustion enters the cylinder from two intake channels, namely, a scavenging port of the internal combustion engine and the injectors; an in-cylinder swirl ratio can be remarkably increased through kinetic energy carried by the gas; and fuel-gas mixing is promoted, and the combustion rate is increased.

Oxycombustion engine systems including recirculation management features
A method for operating an oxycombustion engine system includes passing a nitrogen-depleted gas, a fuel, and a recycled exhaust gas into a combustion chamber, combusting a mixture of the nitrogen-depleted gas, the fuel, and the recycled exhaust gas, thereby producing an exhaust gas including carbon dioxide, detecting a pressure of the recycled exhaust gas passed to the combustion chamber, determining whether the detected pressure of the recycled exhaust gas is less than a configurable pressure threshold, and in response to determining that the detected pressure of the recycled exhaust gas is less than the configurable pressure threshold, increasing the pressure of the recycled exhaust gas passed to the combustion chamber.
