CLEANING SYSTEM FOR AN ENGINE EXHAUST COOLER
A system and method including one or more conduits, a pump system, and a controller. The conduits are fluidly coupled with a cooling device that is operably coupled with an engine to cool at least a portion of exhaust from the engine. The pump system pumps a cleaning fluid from a cleaning fluid source through the one or more conduits and into a flow path of a portion of the exhaust from the engine while the engine continues to operate. The controller monitors operation of the engine and determines whether the engine is operating in a designated state. The controller controls the pump system to pump the cleaning fluid into the flow path of a portion the exhaust from the engine to clean the cooling device while the engine operates in the designated state and the exhaust flows from the engine and through the cooling device.

Method and system for valve sticking detection, prevention, or correction
A method for cleaning an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve includes scheduling a cleaning for the EGR valve, and receiving a signal indicative of a temperature of exhaust gas produced with an internal combustion engine. The method may also include generating a command to actuate an intake throttle valve to a restrictive position to increase the temperature of the exhaust gas for cleaning the EGR valve, and generating a signal to repeatedly actuate the EGR valve.

Cleaning system for a vehicle component
A cleaning system for removal of contaminants from a surface of a vehicle component exposed to a gas or fluid flow, the cleaning system comprising: an excitation device adapted to be attached to the vehicle component in the vicinity of the surface exposed to contaminants, wherein the excitation device is configured to cause the surface to mechanically vibrate by transferring a vibrational excitation to the surface; wherein the frequency of the vibrational excitation is controllable to be based on the configuration of the vehicle component as well as other modelled/measured parameters.

Method for controlling an internal combustion engine system
The invention relates to a method for controlling an internal combustion engine system (2), wherein the internal combustion engine system (2) is provided with an air intake duct (3), an exhaust gas duct (4) and an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system (5), wherein the EGR system (5) comprises an EGR conduit (6) that fluidly connects the exhaust duct (4) and the intake duct (3), and wherein a gas feeding device (7) is arranged in the EGR conduit (6), said gas feeding device (7) being configured to feed exhaust gas from the exhaust duct (4) to the intake duct (3) during operation of the engine system (2). The method is characterized in that it comprises the step of: detecting a risk of freezing of condensed water in the EGR conduit (6), and, in case such a risk is detected and in case the gas feeding device (7) is not in operation, operating the gas feeding device (7). The invention also relates to an internal combustion engine system (2) configured for being operated by such a method and to a vehicle (1) provided with such an engine system (2). The invention further relates to means for controlling the above method.
Apparatus and Method for Reducing Fouling of Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler
An embodiment apparatus for reducing fouling of an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler includes an exhaust gas transfer part configured to connect a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) of an exhaust gas post-treatment system extending from an engine through an exhaust line to an EGR cooler installed in an EGR line and configured to recirculate exhaust gas discharged from an exhaust manifold to an intake manifold, a valve installed in the exhaust gas transfer part, and a controller configured to selectively open the valve as the exhaust gas post-treatment system enters a predetermined diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration condition and allow exhaust gas discharged from the DOC to be supplied to the EGR cooler through the exhaust gas transfer part.
