The vehicle air cleaner includes a case having an inlet port, through which external air is introduced, and an outlet port, through which filtered air is discharged, a filter assembly provided in a first space of an internal space in the case to filter the external air introduced through the inlet port and to remove foreign substances from the external air, and a hydrocarbon trap provided in a second space of the internal space in the case, through which the air filtered through the filter assembly flows, to collect hydrocarbons in the second space.
Filter muffler for an exhaust gas turbocharger of an internal combustion engine
A filter muffler includes a front element, a rear element, and a plurality of damping elements arranged between the front element and the rear element, where the damping elements are arranged radially around a central axis of the filter muffler such that a flow channel is formed between adjacent damping elements, where respective outflow-side ends of the damping elements have a diffuser element which has an outflow-side tapering, and where an angle α between two opposite sides of the diffuser element is selected from a range of 1°≤α≤8°.
AIR CLEANER
There is provided an air cleaner configured to be disposed behind an engine and inside a vehicle body frame. The air cleaner includes: an air cleaner case in which an intake chamber is formed; an air filter that divides the intake chamber into a dirty side and a clean side; an inlet tube configured to take in air from a vehicle rear side to the dirty side; and an outlet tube configured to send air from the clean side to the engine. The inlet tube and the outlet tube are attached to an upper side of the air cleaner case, and an expansion portion is formed on a lower side of the air cleaner case, the expansion portion being formed by expanding the clean side further downward than the dirty side.
AN AIR FILTER HOUSING AND AN AIR FILTER ELEMENT
An air filter housing has an inner housing space adapted to receive an air filter element. The air filter housing includes a first housing end and a second housing end located axially opposite the first housing end in relation to the inner housing space, and an outlet pipe extending from the second housing end axially into the inner housing space. The outlet pipe has a center axis and an opening configured to receive clean air from the inner housing space, wherein at least an axial portion of the outlet pipe has a cross-sectional area along a geometrical plane perpendicular to the centre axis which is tapering.
AIR FILTERING ASSEMBLY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
An air filter system for a motor vehicle includes a common housing, first and second D-shaped filter elements and a common cover. The common housing defines a first airflow chamber extending between a first inlet duct and a first outlet duct and a second airflow chamber extending between a second inlet duct and a second outlet duct. The first airflow chamber is fluidly separated from the second airflow chamber. The first D-shaped filter element is disposed in the first airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the first airflow chamber. The second D-shaped filter element is disposed in the second airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the second airflow chamber. The common cover is secured to the housing and closes the first airflow chamber and the second airflow chamber.
Honeycomb filter
The honeycomb filter includes a honeycomb substrate having porous partition walls defining a plurality of cells and plugging portions. In a cross section, the cells are arranged so that a periphery of an inlet plugged cell including an open end whose shape is a square in which a length of one side is L1 is surrounded with four rectangular outlet plugged cells each including an open end whose shape is a rectangle in which a length of one side is L1 and a length of the other side is L2 (L1>L2) and four square outlet plugged cells each including an open end whose shape is a square in which a length of one side is L2. A partition wall center distance a, a partition wall center distance b and a partition wall thickness t satisfy the following equation (1):
0.95<b/at<1.90 (1).
Air Intake Assembly and Methods Thereof
Disclosed herein are air intake assemblies for internal combustion engines. In some embodiments, an air intake assembly includes an air filter configured to produce filtered air, a sealed filter housing configured to house the air filter therein, and an intake tube configured to convey the filtered air to an internal combustion engine. The filter housing includes an air intake port configured to provide intake air to the air filter. The air filter is configured to remove particulate matter from the intake air and produce the filtered air, The air filter includes a multi-component coupling interface configured to accept an intake-end portion of the intake tube in the coupling interface. The filter housing includes an aperture configured to accept the coupling interlace of the air filter in the aperture. Also disclosed herein are methods of the air intake assemblies.
Oval filter with exterior elliptical radial seal and internal support structure
Various embodiments relate to a filter element. The filter element includes a first endplate that defines a first endplate opening and a second endplate. Filter media is positioned between and extending axially between the first endplate and the second endplate. The filter media defines a central opening extending axially therein. A support structure is disposed within the central opening of the filter media and is attached to the first endplate and the second endplate. The support structure includes an axial lobed extension that extends from a first end of the support structure to a second end of the support structure. The support structure is configured to resist collapse of the filter element.
Engine for outdoor power equipment unit
An air cleaner system that potentially reduces debris entering a prime mover (e.g., engine) during removal/replacement of an air cleaner. In one embodiment, the engine includes a shroud defining an air cleaner compartment. The engine further includes a tubular air feed port defining a combustion air intake. The air feed port terminates at an end face located at or within the air cleaner compartment, and a lower portion of the end face is notched relative to other portions of the end face.
